JPW gave them a good excuse to cut his ass last night, problem is they won't because it's necessary to keep 3 QB's. He's in his 3rd year and essentially proven he won't get any better, which means he's not even good enough to play a backup.

What they'll end up doing though, is keeping him off the 46 who dress. The old rule was you could dress 45 of the 53 and then by default you get your 3rd string QB as your 46th guy. But this year, you can opt not to do that and dress 46 without bringing the 3rd QB. They'll simply use Meier in a pinch if they absolutely had to.

We draft a backup QB in 2012.

If in the 3rd year of your project QB he hasn't established himself as a legit #2 he probably never will so I fully expect a new project QB next year and maybe a vet to replace Redman, but that's next year...
