RE: RAY EDWARDS CUT!!!!!!!!!
We cut the wrong Ray. Sugar bear has been given first round talent top freeagents and has gotten little out of them. Bring in Chuck Smith and watch the difference it makes.

So how are we against the run? And again I could be wrong, but wasn't Ray the first missed tackle on Ivory's TD run?

No. That was Abraham. Then Samuel didn't even touch him, DeCoud couldn't even push him out of bounds and Dunta got stiffed.

Report: Ray Edwards released by Falcons for insubordination

Earlier this week, the Falcons surprisingly released defensive end Ray Edwards. Though he hadn't been all that productive on the field, that reportedly wasn't the reason that Atlanta parted ways with him.

According to Jay Glazer on Fox NFL Sunday, the Falcons released him after he was insubordinate to coach Mike Smith in the locker room following Atlanta's loss last week to the Saints.

Glazer said Smith was about to make his postgame speech, and he requested the presence of Edwards -- who refused to leave his locker. Three times, Smith asked him to join his teammates in the middle of the locker room (other Falcons also apparently tried to cajole Edwards). Three times, Edwards ignored him.

Adding further to the problem was that owner Arthur Blank and general manager Thomas Dimitroff were in the locker room and witnessed the reported insubordination first-hand.

The Falcons had wanted to sign Charles Johnson in the first place before the 2011 season, but he signed an enormous deal with the Panthers. According to CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora, the Falcons were wary about signing Edwards in the first place.

RE: RAY EDWARDS CUT!!!!!!!!!
That might explain why no one else has picked him up yet. Sounds like he might be a locker room problem.

Jeez, good riddance. We don't need that crap around the team. That's something I learned at every level, in every sport I played. If the coach talks, you listen. Otherwise, you're gone.

RE: RAY EDWARDS CUT!!!!!!!!!
What a douche. Should have cut him right there and kicked him out of the locker room to find his own way home
