But that was Petrino. He probably cut Grady because he wanted to breathe during dinner. Or on the plane. Or when Petrino was crashing his motorcycle with a little tart half his age perched on the back of it.

Can you fault the guy for having a little tart half his age? Granted she was from Arkansas so she was probably missing some teeth and carrying some extra toes but still....

Okay, I don't really know if that's the last time, but Dan Reeves cut the hell out of Juran Bolden after his crappy play in that 1st San Francisco game. And it was a shock at the time because Bolden was considered to have a ton of upside, great speed and ideal size, but he just wasn't getting it done on the field. I'm calling this an omen.

I remember when we brought back Bolden a few years after that. Wasn't Reeves still the coach? I remember Bolden played pretty well for a short period of time.

He was. Bolden was HUGE for a corner. Played well in Jacksonville and then we brought him back.

But it still was the right thing to cut him. He was just awful in that 49ers game, and Reeves said he was missing assignments left and right. It probably saved his career.

Atlanta Falcons: Defensive end Ray Edwards released

The Falcons released defensive end Ray Edwards less than two seasons after he was heralded as a key component of the team’s pass rush.

The Falcons signed Edwards as a free agent in July 2011, giving him $11 million in guaranteed salary on a five-year deal. But Edwards produced little in the way of sacks (3.5) or quarterback pressures in 25 games with the Falcons.

Edwards started all 16 games in 2011 and four of nine games this season. Edwards’ playing time had decreased this season, a development coach Mike Smith and offensive coordinator Mike Nolan attributed to extensive use of special personnel packages.

Kroy Biermann has absorbed a number of Edwards’ snaps while playing a hybrid position in Nolan’s defense.

The Vikings selected Edwards in fourth round of the 2006 draft our of Purdue. He was set to make $3 million in base salary this year, $5.5 million in 2013, $5 million in 2014 and $5 million in 2015.

So whats the point of having him here, I'm glad they did it. Showed some major Gonads. I hated it when they got him, I wished we had gone after Babin, or somebody else. Jared up in Minnesota did everything. It came back to bite us, but the front office is not playing. and I'm glad.

The Falcons played the Vikings in 2008 and even still I didn't know who he was when we signed him. That told me everything I needed to know about him.

Should have gotten Jared Allen in a pkg deal when we got Tony Gonzalez a few years back. I believe Allen left (KC) that same year....

We were playing an away game, and there was a mix up at the hotel. Then what had happened was apparently somehow Grady was given Petrino's suite key. Well, apparently coach had his family with him at the time, and when they arrived to their room they were greeted to the sight of big Grady in his undies eating the plate of cookies at the table.

Yeah I remember you posting that a while back, one of the best things I ever heard, I've passed this along to many people. The mental imagery alone is off the chart. I can just see Grady sitting there "Hey coach what cha doin in my room? Want a cookie?"
