From today:

1. Houston (6-1). J.J. Watt had neither a sack nor a deflected pass over the weekend. Of course, the Texans didn't have a game.
2. Atlanta (7-0). Any doubt Matt Ryan's the leader in the clubhouse for the 2012 NFL MVP disappeared in the first half at Philadelphia. Ryan went 17 of 20 for 197 yards with three touchdowns and no picks in said first half, and it was 24-7 entering the break.

From Thursday:

1 p.m. ET (FOX) Atlanta Falcons (6-0) 20 at Philadelphia Eagles (3-3) 23
All six wins by the Falcons are against teams currently .500 or less, which is no fault of their own obviously, simply a commentary on the fact they haven't played a tough schedule. The Eagles, obviously, are the seventh, and a deceiving 3-3. I do believe Mike Vick, as he says, will play angry this week, not only because this is his old team but because he knows Andy Reid isn't going to put up with his 2.2 turnovers per game, the highest quarterback average in the league.

RE: Peter King
Peter King had the Falcons #1 for 1 week and then put the Texans back to #1.

I feel like he tries to make part of his reasoning (Not in this ranking, but another) that Vick turns the ball over. While in the game, Vick had no turnovers and was just shut down. Go figure, no respect for the Falcons. It's alright. I'll continue to watch everyone say how much better the Saints are than their record shows, and how good the Eagles are despite their record as well.

RE: Peter King
Honestly, I have a VERY hard time seeing us beat the Texans. I believe they would probably beat us pretty soundly. It is the one team in the NFL we match up terribly against.

Comes down to this:
Our defense struggles against the run. The Texans can run over anybody and have the best OL and RB in the NFL right now.
The Texans pass rush is ferocious and their run D is excellent.

So I don't mind him having the Texans ranked on top of us. The Falcons would have to play the game of their lives to win.

No way. The Packers destroyed them.
The Pack gave up 149 yards on the ground to the Colts...the Colts!.... the week before then held the Texans to 99. Their offense is not that impressive. Pressure the QB and contain the run, which we do very well. Yes teams run well on us but they don't beat us with the run. Every time the game is close its because we make enough mistakes to let the other team in.

Their defense is very good but Rodgers tore them up. Right now there are three QBs playing at that level: Rodgers, Brady and Ryan. Peyton is moving back to that point.

Their pass game is suspect. Andre Johnson looks old. Schaub cannot go out there and win one on his own. He needs the run game to win. He's like Ryan year 2. We start fast and put up points quickly. They don't have the fire power to match us.

RE: Peter King
We keep the ball away from their offense, like we did philly in the first half, and there isn't a team on earth that could beat us, in my opinion.

No I didn't say it was last week. He he had the Falcons at #1 after they beat the Raiders to get to 6-0. But then with the Falcons on bye the Texans beat the snot out of the Ravens and he put them back to #1.
