PFW Scouts eye on falcons.
Why am I not happy with all this positive attention. WTF is wrong with me. The power rankings, the interview of Roddy and Julio with the "Playmaker" on NFL network this weekend, Darren Sharper calling Willy Mo and Decoud the best safety tandem in the league, Rich Eisen saying the falcons are for real and there is something different about them on Dan Patrick show. Atleast after the first 2 weeks you would get that" lets see what they do in the playoffs" comment that you could be mad at (like its just a cakewalk making it to the playoffs in the NFC) but even those comments seem to have disappeared. Stay focussed and motivated guys keep winning and maybe I can get used to this. ![]()

RE: PFW Scouts eye on falcons.
It's a simple explanation as to why you aren't exactly happy with all the positive attention. Three weeks ago everyone was saying "Yeah, they have a good team, but they always choke" and things like that. Last week they were all saying "Well, they might have something here. But let's wait and see if they choke." Now they are up in arms, saying that we and the Texans (Another team that the media did the same exact thing to) are the two teams to beat in the league and that we have the best players in the league at some of our most important positions. Positions on the field that up until these last three weeks this season, we thought were big questions marks in need of major improvement through free agency or draft.
Well, guess what, it's reasonable not to want to accept the media attention. How do you go from hating us in week 1 and thinking we are pretenders, to suddenly saying we are going to take it all this year and our safeties are the best in the league? It's hard to understand, and it's hard to accept. At the end of the day, it's good though.

don't worry guys, at the first sign of a bad outing, it will go back to 'they choke' and 'they were pretenders'

RE: PFW Scouts eye on falcons.
All the predictions for this weeks game show the Panthers scoring at least 20 points. We have faced better offenses this year and held them to less. Why would anyone think the team that got put in place by the Giants would be suddenly able to put up points on us.
No one believes in the Falcons. They won't until we win a big game. I think this is the biggest game of the year for the team. A win here puts some real space between the Falcons and the rest of the NFC South. I am hoping for a blowout and full Cam Newton meltdown, though something tells me he brings his A game this week. |

Someone tried to bring up the "always choke deal", a bandwagon saints fan. I pointed out that the last 3 teams the Falcons lost to in the playoffs have a combined 11-1 record in those post seasons. That's not a choke, thats just losing to a better team. A choke is losing to the only playoff team ever to have a losing record.

If we keep playing at the level we are now, then we will win a playoff game.
The difference this year IS the coordinators. It has brought an excitement to the players. Starting off 3-0 only adds gas to the current fire we have going.

RE: PFW Scouts eye on falcons.
The ultimate best case scenario for the NFL would be for both the Texans and Falcons to go undefeated all the way to the super bowl. Chances of that happening are a little bit lower than the earth ending in December, but it's fun to contemplate.

RE: PFW Scouts eye on falcons.
If the Falcons keep winning the media will continue to focus on us but only we the fans will be nervous. The team and the coaches will focus at the task at hand and I sincerely believe that. We fans can worry and cheer knowing the team is well led!
I love the Falcons and to hell with anyone who doesn't! |
