RE: PFF First impressions Dolphins V Falcons
I don't think Ryan "screamed" franchise QB. He threw a lot of picks in college and showed some questionable decision making. Some reports had him falling almost entirely out of the 1st round. Jake Long was an elite left tackle with far fewer question marks. In retrospect, they will regret that move for a decade at least. At the time, it seemed like the safer pick.

I also thought Reynolds looked pretty good for his limited play time. He is young and has played only limited reps, so you would expect some level of improvement. If his play on Friday is a baseline then I think we will continue to have a great offensive line.

RE: PFF First impressions Dolphins V Falcons
It was a sideline pass that would have arrived head high or maybe shoulder. The only way that pass could have gotten over Grimes was to throw a bit more softly and loft it up(like a corner fade), which would have given time for Grimes to break back and make a play. On a medium distance sideline pass in zone you have a window(between corner and safety) to make the pass and it kinda needs to zip there or get picked, but in this case the zip wasn't enough to get past Grimes. The ball was perfectly thrown for 90% of the corners in the league. You can't, in my opinion, call the pass underthrown because to throw it over Grimes with the required zip to not allow him to just break back and make a play would have put high enough the receiver would have had to jump and probably land out of bounds.

It was a mistake to not realize who was covering(part of being first pre-season game and no gameplan) and simply not throw the ball. Grimes makes that same play often enough that teams will simply NOT make the throw against him more often than not in the coming seasons.

Ignorance can be educated.....Stupidity is to the bone.

The problem with this is that no one looked at the ridiculous number of passes he threw. His attempt to interception ratio was relatively low when you consider that.

He was also making mistakes as well. That was one of the major selling points was his ability to overcome those mistakes he was making. He was the top QB in what was largely considered one of the weakest qb drafts in a long time.

I'll hold off on the peyton brady talk but yes he definitely lived up to his potential thus far.
