PFF Excerpts
Quote:Tight End: Tony Gonzalez, ATL (+3.8)

If Gonzalez continues to play at this high a level for the rest of the season it would almost be rude to retire. He picked up 123 yards in large part because he forced five missed tackles.

Quote:Tyson Clabo, ATL (+3.6)
On the right side Clabo gave up one pressure and kept Ryan Kerrigan quiet so convincingly you almost forgot what Charles Johnson was able to do to him last week.

Couple Falcons made the "Team of the Week." Good to see Clabo bounce back after getting his lunch money taken and his azz handed to him by Charles Johnson last week. Another good performance sandwiched between bad ones in this atypical uneven season for him.

Now if only they could run block consistently...

RE: PFF Excerpts
I don't think the run blocking was the problem in Sunday. Turner's vision was the major issue. One play inparticular where there was great blocking by the right side of the line and plenty of running room but instead Turner ran left and into a brick wall for a loss. It was pathetic. There were a handful of plays like that from Turner.

As many times as he was hit 2-3 yards behind the LOS, it was a problem.

RE: PFF Excerpts
Figured I'd bump this with this tidbit from PFF. We all know Ryan is playing well, but how has he and the O Line handled being blitzed so far this season?

Quote:Blitzing Matt Ryan hasn’t been a good option. When he has been blitzed, Ryan has a QB Rating of 123.9, and has been sacked only once.

I'd say quite well.

I don't there were that many plays like that on Sunday. Not nearly as many as against the Chiefs and Broncos games. Most of the bad runs came when other guys ran the ball.

I'd say quite well.

This actually makes it sound like a lot of the sacks Ryan has taken have been coverage sacks.

Ryan has always performed well against blitzes.

Yep. Since day 1 Ryan has ripped up defenses that blitz heavily against him.
