RE: Owens could flourish under Mike Nolan
I don't think it's personal, it's directed squarely at his on field play.

RE: Owens could flourish under Mike Nolan
I remember after 2009 season everyone was screaming for Grimes to be gone. It took Grimes a few years to develop, give Owens the same chance people. He been showing flashes of what he's capable to do. Maybe Nolan can get something out of Owens that BVG couldnt have done.

Invest in the trenches with high draft picks and we will see both sides of the ball vastly improve.

If we upgrade the dline and upgrade decoud, then Owens would be serviceable. I don't like him. But if we had a pass rush then anyone would work good enough.

All in fun my man I pull for every single player on our team, including Owens and Baker. I pulled for Laurent, Houston, and JA98 when they were here even though I thought they were not living up the expectations. I want every single man on our roster to be the best fucking football player at their position, and hope for them all to succeed. When I say "Fuck Owens" it simply means I do not think there is any point putting him on the field anymore due to how often (and badly) he hurts our team's chance to win ball games. It has nothing to do with not liking him personally; I have never been someone who cares what athletes due outside the game and never will be. The fact is, I personally feel like Owens needs to be riding the bench, cut, traded, or relegated to strictly ST. It is wishful thinking of the bravest sort to expect him to become a starting quality CB due to a coaching change. BVG might not be the best DC on the planet but he is a great teacher and motivator; if he couldn't get Owens to perform at a professional level through four years, I don't see any reason a new coach (even a great defensive mind like Nolan) will. |
