In 2008, Brian Van Gorder took a defense that was virtually the same one from 2007, and made it ranked 11th in scoring from 29th in scoring.

Our defense was absolutely horrible in 2007. People are grossly over rating Zimmer.

Zimmer runs a man to man, Cover 1 type scheme. Old fashioned and very aggressive, but you need some high quality CBs to run it... and DeAngelo Hall and Lewis Sanders were not the ones to do it, or Chris Houston.
