RE: Offseason Moves I Feel Should Be Made
I think Snelling is a solid all-purpose runningback/fullback. He's not exceptional, but he's solid enough.

Solid enough for what? Backup/special teamer? Certainly not a feature back role.

That same "fan" base would take anyone over Ryan and once they realized his replacement sucked they would want someone else. lol

How about a young Burner clone but he can catch. I say bring in Tolbert. He is not a break away guy but is a solid thumper who still runs with ferocity.

And this is coming from someone who has been lobbying for quite some time to see Turner's role significantly reduced.

There is a reason why not one single other team was willing to pick up Snelling after he hit the free agent market last offseason. The guy possesses absolutely no speed, no burst and no elusiveness. Unfortunately, you need at least one of those qualities to be a viable RB in the NFL. That little breaking tackles thing Snelling does once or twice a season can't be sustained over a full 16 games.

Feature back my ass.

Yeah, I have seen Snelling play. He is quicker to the line, a much better receiver, can change directions better and does an excellent job of pass protection. Turner is a bigger and better bull dozer. With a better OL, Snelling should be able to provide the team with good production.

Our new offense will not rely on a full back. So, we will not need Ovie and we will save another $3million in cap space. Look, I like Turner, he is a better RB than Snelling. The problem is that we have a lousy OL, so our offensive budget should be shifted to the OL. In a perfect world, we would be able to sign great O Linemen and keep Turner. This is not a perfect world.

I would feel very comfortable going into the season with Snelling, Rodgers and a mid round draft pick, like Bolden (Ole Miss).....as long as we finally upgrade the OL.

Solid enough to stay in his current role. He's solid in his running, he can do damage at the second level, he pass blocks well, he can run block, he can catch out of the backfield and pick up YAC, and he's good on special teams.

Personally, I view Snelling as a utility guy. I'm not really big on the whole "feature back", so I'd prefer to be like the Patriots or Saints. They have a collection of utility players that perform well in a variety of roles and aren't expected to be stand-out players, and that's perfect for Snelling.

Turner can be the straight line bruiser, Quizz can be the Sproles type, Snelling can kinda fill as an all-purpose bruiser, and now we just need a true "all-purpose" RB like Pierre Thomas to have a quality staple of guys.

Radical, you are right. I misused the term "featured." What I mean is that Snelling can get between fifteen and twenty touches and do a good job for us.

On offense, we need to get better along the OL. Improve the OL, improve the offense....it's that simple.
