Great write up. One correction for accuracy sake. The "Gritz Blitz" glory days where under Glanville when he was here as DC...1977 1978ish I think. When he came back in 91ish as head coach he brought the "fun and gun" offense with him.

I think the Falcons are probably the 3rd best team in the NFC. And I dont think it can be argued that the Packers and Saints are better than us. This just wont be our year to get to the SB. Nobody is beating the Packers this season.

I'm sure a lot of Giants fans said this back in 2007.

I said "Get to the SB", not win it. Your attention to detail is what I admire most about you.

Obviously. Completely miss the point why don't you. Do you need me to break it down for you?

I know what you said, and I got your point, but Im not replying any more to you on this topic. You will just turn this into some slapstick comedy after you're done editing my posts. Just isnt worth it.

Since we're splitting hairs, "Fun and Gun" was Spurrier. The offense the Falcons ran under Glanville/Jones was nicknamed the "Red Gun" offense. It actually was pretty fun - for about one season. So, I guess you could also call it the "Fun and Done" offense.

RE: OK…So……Let’s Review the Situation Here
Great write up and thank you for posting it. I just want to say, as a falcon fan born in Atlanta in the early 80's, and moved to San Francisco in 1990, I appreciate the write up. For most of my falcons fandom I have had to watch the falcons when they played the 9'ers in Candlestick Park in the 90's against Joe Montana and Steve Young. As bad as it was going every year with my dad to see the falcons come to town to likely (not always) get stomped by the 49ers, the past 10 years have been great. While it is true that Vick was the model of instability, he did bring excitement and national attention which meant more falcons in my living room. These past 3.5 years have been something else though, and the team has been consistently in contention for the entire time. It is a good time to be a Falcons fan, and I have zero gripes about where the team is headed.
