Simple point of the thread is to have some PERSPECTIVE...anybody arguing that point has already had their brain misguided.

I really enjoyed that. Thanks for posting. I never go to that board any more, for the reasons you mentioned. I'm going to share this write up with all of my Falcons buddies.

RE: OK…So……Let’s Review the Situation Here
That was a great read.

So great, in fact, it compells me to admit something I'm not particularly proud of: I secretly rooted for the Falcons to lose against the 49ers during that X-mas eve game back in '95 - a game I attended, BTW - in the hopes that they would finish 8-8, miss the playoffs and the firing of June Jones and subsequent hiring of a possible legitimate coach and staff would be expedited. I was actually pissed when the Falcons miraculously pulled that one out. That's the level of fed up I had reached as a lifelong fan of the franchise. That's how keen my eye had become for discerning pretender from contender.

Of course, the Falcons were dismantled by Green Bay in the first round. It didn't hurt one bit. Went 3-13 the following season. Whatever. Just more numbness.

My, how times have changed. The fact that playoff losses now sting like hell is a very good thing, as far as I am concerned.

It's really a shame how many of our fans don't recognize just how good we got it right now. It's one thing to be critical of a draft pick or a player's performance or a coach's play call, but those who are constantly calling for the heads of our GM, our QB and/or certain coaches simply aren't very educated about football and probably don't possess the necessary perspective and emotional maturity to be a good football fan.

The most surefire path to a Super Bowl is being a perrenial playoff contender. For the first time in their history, that is precisely what the Falcons are right now and will continue to be under TD/Smith. It's just a matter of time before the postseason wins start coming. We should all relax and enjoy the ride.

I remember that game, my one and only time in one of the luxury boxes, free food, free booze and all.

I've been to 2 games in the luxury boxes at the GA Dome. I was like 8 or 9 both times, so I wasn't drinking. I can say that they are probably some of the nicer luxury boxes I've been to. I've also been to the Budweiser suite at Turner field. They will get you shit housed. Been to the sky boxes at Jordan-Hare and Bryant Denny stadiums. All are nice, but I think I'm just partial to the GA dome.

This is my signature.

Great write-up, and a perfect mirror of my own feelings.

Peyton. Why does every close game cause everyone here to have a mild stroke?

I think it's because some people don't have enough real problems lol. Which I guess is really a very good thing.

I liked the ones at the dome, I was worried about feeling removed from the game but on the little balconies I still felt like part of the crowd (free food/drink and private bathrooms didn't hurt). Just need a winning lotto ticket to be there every week lol.

Too used to college football, or they think ESPN highlights are the norm.
