Sam Baker is back at practice.........

the only time i personally want to see Baker on the field is if he's trying to trip owens before he gets too far out there

sad thing is we all know you're right. and other than that 'stepped on Ryans ankle thing' Svitek has done a pretty dang good job out there

This isn't the fucking Marion Campbell led Falcons or something. I know Smith and his staff haven't revolutionized the game or kicked ass in the play-offs, but can we at least acknowledge that he is a competent coach?

Ya'll are acting like that under Smith, we constantly trot out inferior players simply because they were the starters before they were injured or something all the time. We're on the way to double digit wins right now, with another likely play-off berth, and I get the feeling that some of you think we're on the way to a 4th straight losing season or something.

I'm not asking anyone to be "homers" or anything, but yeesh.

wait what? did you keep a straight face while you were typing that? remember Jason Elam, Adam Jennings, JA98, and the ever present Chris Owens???? i'm sure i'm forgetting someone, anyone who can add to that list, feel free. if there is any REAL knock i'd put on coach, it's his seemingly undying loyalty to inferior players.

I'm not expecting a losing season, but you're not gonna sit there and convince me that if Baker comes out of practice this week at 90 to 95% you're expecting svitek to start again?

Elam was replaced and never brought back, Jennings was replaced and never brought back, Anderson was given back-up reps and then replaced, and Owens was put on down the depth chart and then replaced by Hayden before he was injured again.

Again, once this team has a superior replacement, they aren't coming back outside of being depth. It was hardly like Hayden was holding a spot for Owens to come back.

To me Svitek is a superior replacement because baker is as bad as Owens. I hope we never see the human turnstile T-Rex hybrid ever again.

totally agree, which is why i think until he's finally cut, he's their starter. he was their second pick ever as our FO. you honestly think they've given up on him and are willing to relegate him to backup? I'm not saying he plays this week, i don't think he's completely healthy yet. but when they come to the determination he's healthy, he'll start and svitek goes back to the bench.
