Another thing to remember is we still have to pay 4.5 million of guaranteed money towards the cap for Edwards in 2013. Still, looking at the remaining players, I still believe we could make a run at a couple of guys.

Actually the cap numbers say that Edwards is still a $7.5M cap hit as of the beginning of 2012 and we're paying him $5.5M this year, so that leaves only $2M.

Which is odd because we only guaranteed him $11M and we paid him $5M last year. Not sure where the extra $1.5M is coming in to play.

I got the number from here. Ray's base salary will not be on the Falcons books in 2013, but the remainder of his signing bonus and other bonus will be. So $800K for 3 years and $750K for three years comes out to $4.65 mil cap hit. I could be wrong, but I believe that is how it works.

The way I read that, we paid him $2.8M last year, we're going to pay $4.55M for this year, and we owe him $11M total. $11M minus $7.35M leaves a balance owed of $3.65M. Which would of course have to go against the 2013 cap.

So maybe we're both wrong and we still owe him $3.65M.

Either way, it's still a lot better than the $7.05M he was going to put against our cap in 2013. That still saves us $3.4M in cap room over what we would have had.

That's how you have to look at it.

If we have the cap like some of you said, Do you think we would pull another Julio Trade in next year draft??

A lot of money to spend, all of draft picks, and only 3-4 spots to fill in (RB,TE,DE and LB). I wouldnt be surprise.

He might slip to late 1st round which should be where we going to be, but yeah im watching his highlight right now and having chills!

He even sound like a TD type of guy, NEVER fumble, stayed in college instead of coming out early, and a 4 year player.

Yeah. There have been 3 or 4 stories saying that he should be the first running back taken in the draft this year, and just this past weekend his coach said that's what "scouts" were telling him (The coach). Should be interesting. I really would hope we could land Ball. I would be ecstatic to have a Ball/Rodgers backfield NEXT year.

I wouldn't be too upset if we went with another position though.

Just not sure. We certainly don't need to move up to 6th again.

Manti Te'o is about the only top-15 player I could see us going after. But that is essentially saying that Dent is a complete bust.

There are no RB's really ranked in the top 20 at this point either. Ball, Bernard, Ellington, and Bell are all late 1st to mid 2nd projections at this moment.

Could we move up for a DE, DT, or OG? I doubt it. Those are huge gambles. WAY bigger bust potential than anything else and you know TD and Smitty, they are big percentage guys. They're not going to give away the farm for anything less than a sure thing.

Julio was a sure thing. And there was zero question about that on their part. The ONLY thing close to a sure thing in the top 20 that I can see is Manti Te'o. Jarvis Jones also maybe? I don't know. I'm a giant UGA fan, and Jarvis sure as hell can make some big plays, but he also disappears for games and I just get that odd sense that he only turns it on when he wants to turn it on, and that's not all the time. I think he can mail it in when he's feeling lazy and that bothers me.

I think we go DE in FA, possibly move back out of the first round to pick up an extra 2nd and 3rd round and try to fill RB, TE, CB, and LB all between rounds 2 and 3.

However, if Te'o was still there at #12-15 by some remarkable chance, I would be ecstatic as hell if we moved up to get him. It wouldn't cost us near as much as Julio did to move up that far either. Maybe next year's 1st and this year's 4th, at most. But I don't think Te'o makes it past 10, is the problem.

Another way I can see us going is get a big DT through the Draft (ie: John Jenkins) to solidify our line, then we can go after a DE at FAs to take off some pressure off from Beerman.

That means either Jerry, or walker will be let go.

Then offensively spend 2nd or 3rd on RB. Resign Micheal Palmer and Draft or sign a pass catching TE.

Is there any good TE coming out of this year Draft?

Deepest tight end class in a long time. I think there are 6 starter quality tight ends. 2 to 3 of which are in my opinion more ready than Fleener or Rudolph in my opinion.
