Drew Brees - New Orleans - 5 years - $100,000,000.00 - $20,000,000.00
Peyton Manning - Denver - 5 years - $96,000,000.00 - $19,200,000.00
Michael Vick - Philadelphia - 5 years - $80,000,000.00 - $16,000,000.00
Tom Brady - New England - 5 years - $78,500,000.00 - $15,700,000.00
Eli Manning - NY Giants - 7 years - $106,900,000.00 - $15,271,428.57
Philip Rivers - San Diego - 7 years - $98,250,000.00 - $14,035,714.29
Matt Schaub - Houston - 5 years - $66,150,000.00 - $13,230,000.00
Sam Bradford - St. Louis - 6 years - $78,000,000.00 - $13,000,000.00
Ben Roethlisberger - Pittsburgh - 8 years - $102,000,000.00 - $12,750,000.00
Matthew Stafford - Detroit - 6 years - $72,000,000.00 - $12,000,000.00

What I'd like to pay Ryan would put him above Vick, but below Manning.

Imagine what ole Mr Drysdale could do with all that money in the Commerce Bank of Beverly Hills! He went plum crazy over Jeds $35 million............

I'd like to see them get Ryan in the 6 or 7 year range at somewhere around $16 to $16.5 million. But I'm with some of you that think they'll take a wait and see attitude for Flacco's deal.

Chew on THAT, Petunia!

Why would I blow a gasket ? I stated all along if Ryan gets a playoff win he deserves a contract extension . Ryan is a top 10 QB that will never win a Super Bowl or a MVP but will keep the Falcons relevant like Joe Johnson kept the Hawks relevant but we will never win a championship and there will come a time we will be forced to move on . Ryan deserves a contract ext and it's evident Ryan is not going anywhere any time soon next 3-5 years . If TD was smart he would just allow Ryan to play under his contract next year which is a bargain and then work out a ext after next season , plus always have he franchise tag in back pocket with that said Im sure TD is not the BRIGHTEST fella around, same guy who unloaded the bank on bum Dunta Robinson

I'm delusional from our playoff loss against GB . Don't take me seriously until year 2413 .

Oh the difference a defense makes.

Wow. As u said what a difference a defense makes, but also the level of competition.

Matter of fact didn't the Ravens win that New England game? Lmao

If I hear "Flacco has been money in the playoffs" then your credibility is about 75% shot with me. Just absolutely crazy how he has won most of those first 5 games.

As has been mentioned before, Matt Ryan would have been to the SB at least once with that team. 1 TD and 6 Interceptions....hilarious.

I wonder how much trolling there would have been with Flacco the QB.

for what it's worth, it still stands that every team we've lost to in the playoffs has went on to the Super Bowl.

I was thinking about this. I never fails... if you wanna go to the dance, you gotta beat the falcons. Is that something worth bragging about?

RE: New Matt Ryan Contract: What Does He Deserve?
Matt still has 1 year on his contract. They're only going to re-do it out of courtesy. And Matt will go easy on it because he's already been making great money and his main goal is to win and he understands he has to surround himself with talent to help get there and that costs money too. He's not Brees. He won't handcuff the cap by holding out and demanding a certain number. He's just not like that.

Right now, he's in the 5th year of a 6 year $66 million initial contract (so $11 million/yr average). http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/atlanta-falcons/matt-ryan/

Since he still has a year on this contract, I see them giving him a new 7-year cap-friendly deal some time this offseason. Something like $110 million over 7 years. That's an average of $15.7M/yr. And it may even be less than that if he decides to really make it even more cap-friendly. I can see him even agreeing to 7 years at $100 million. That's still $14.3M/yr, which is still a 30% bump in pay and a pretty long contract.

I wouldn't mind giving him something similar to what Eli or Rivers got, but I don't think he needs to be paid like the likes of Peyton Manning, Drew Brees.

6 years, 15-16 million a year, give or take a million or a year, sounds fine by me.

Yep he is probably getting 15-17 million a year in a cap friendly type of contract whihc is fine and what he deserves.

Please make it 7 years TD. I want to never worry about that position again until my kids are in college!
