New Matt Ryan Contract: What Does He Deserve?
Ryan has taken this organization to new heights, and it's already been announced that we plan to work out a deal with him during the offseason. So, what do you think he deserves?

Ryan's rookie contract was for 6 years and $66 million. Obviously he'll get more, but how much more? Hopefully nothing as bad as Brees and his organization crippling deal. I'd like to see a contract for 6 years in the $100 to $110 million range.

BTW, Brees cap hit each of the remaining years:

$17.4 mil.
$18.4 mil.
$26.4 mil.
$27.4 mil.

RE: New Matt Ryan Contract: What Does He Deserve?
god I hate paying QBs an obscene amount of money, just a terrible idea. Can't remember the last time that breaking the bank on a QB was a good idea. did rape face in Pittsburgh win the SB before or after his extension? I think Manning won after he signed a gigantic fucking contract, but thats all that comes to mind in the last decade. Patriots haven't been the same since they overpaid Brady.

Why the rush to sign Ryan ? Falcons still have him for 1 more year at a bargain . Plus we can always franchise him for 2014 .

if anything wait to see what Flacco gets and give him the same amount

I'm delusional from our playoff loss against GB . Don't take me seriously until year 2413 .

I wouldn't pay Ryan near what Flacco got, Unibrow has been money in the playoffs and is in the SB. I'd low ball his ass and see what happens, but that's just me and these franchise killing contracts that even mediocre QBs are getting these days are pissing me off.

We will wait of course to see if Flacco wins a SB and if he does, then we will use Flacco's contract against Ryan and aim a few million lower. If Flacco loses, then it will quite possibly b the same as Flacco's.

Flacco's team and coaches have been better and that means a lot in relation to how Flacco has played in.the playoffs as opposed to Ryan. I would look at the same number of games. Flacco has also had more experience in the playoffs than Ryan because his team carried him and gained the confidence a lot quicker because of that.

Lets take a look at Matt Ryans first 5 playoff games and compare them to Flacco's first 5 amd see who was better.

Sorry I dont have the stats for that.

RE: New Matt Ryan Contract: What Does He Deserve?
Top 10 QB contracts in the NFL right now, based on average salary per year.

Drew Brees - New Orleans - 5 years - $100,000,000.00 - $20,000,000.00
Peyton Manning - Denver - 5 years - $96,000,000.00 - $19,200,000.00
Michael Vick - Philadelphia - 5 years - $80,000,000.00 - $16,000,000.00
Tom Brady - New England - 5 years - $78,500,000.00 - $15,700,000.00
Eli Manning - NY Giants - 7 years - $106,900,000.00 - $15,271,428.57
Philip Rivers - San Diego - 7 years - $98,250,000.00 - $14,035,714.29
Matt Schaub - Houston - 5 years - $66,150,000.00 - $13,230,000.00
Sam Bradford - St. Louis - 6 years - $78,000,000.00 - $13,000,000.00
Ben Roethlisberger - Pittsburgh - 8 years - $102,000,000.00 - $12,750,000.00
Matthew Stafford - Detroit - 6 years - $72,000,000.00 - $12,000,000.00

What I'd like to pay Ryan would put him above Vick, but below Manning.
