NFL Turning Point
I was flipping around tonight and I happened to stop on the NBC Sports Channel, Yea I had never heard of it before either. They had something called NFL Turning Point on. The show breaks down the big plays of the week, Inside the NFL style, and shows how that play was the turning point for that team, game, season, etc.

I happened on the show as they were coming out of commercial and they were talking about the 80 yard Julio pass. They called it the Turning Point in the game and also the Turning Point that pulled Ryan out of his slump. It was very cool, cause they broke down the play using the players words. The key was Julio all game had noticed how the corners were playing up on the receivers looking for slants. They showed he and Robiskie were on the sidelines talking about it. Julio basically calls out the route he is going to run. Then they break down showing him faking the slant then cutting up field on the go route.

The sideline mic is cool. Turner walks up to Julio and says "I wouldn't let you do that to me. I woulda jammed your ass up." With a laugh.

Then they cut to Roddy and Gonzo talking about the play. Tony says, "Its Pick your poison, right there. They guard that and I'm wide open over the middle." walks up and says something

Roddy apparently says a lot of stupid stuff to make everyone laugh. Even in a tight game like that they all seem real loose.

Then they talked about how the Falcons nearly blew another chance on a short yardage touchdown to end the game but how smart Ryan was to throw the ball away to highlight the defensive holding in the endzone. Cut to Ryan after the game saying "They were holding like that and I threw it to call it out." or something like that.

They used the phrase: This is what separates the great teams from the merely good teams.

It was a very cool complementary bit on the team more than once calling them the best team in the NFC.

Check your local listings and record it if you get a chance. It airs Wednesday nights and I think it just started. The Falcons are near the end. It's good stuff.

RE: NFL Turning Point
This team has as much fun as the 91 squad without all the distractions. Definitely my favorite Falcons squad from many years!

Formerly SBC Falcon

I'll get my dad to Tivo it. We're all off-air and internet, and I can't find this show on any of the usual channels (Amazon, Vudu, etc.). I'd pay $1.99 to see it.

RE: NFL Turning Point
I listened to the Falcons radio broadcast of the game. During the first half Dave Archer mentioned how the Bucs were overplaying the slant and that the slant and go was going to be open at some point. Glad he and Robiskie were on the same page.
