LMAO so how many drives did we stop them on in the first half? how many third and long's did we give up? that was my point, same old defense. couldn't get off the field in the first quarter. that's not being negative, that's being honest. props to moore for tipping the ball and as always, Grimes got 'ups' and made the int to save it. but thing was, we let them play our game against us, long time consuming drives. They had 3 drives in the first half and scored on two of them equaling 10 points. The other ended in a turnover. Our offense had had 4 possessions in the first half 2 ended with touchdowns the others in punts. Guess who was leading at the end of the half. We still outscored them. Who cares how many yards they got or 3rd down's they converted (they were 4-4 we were 4-6) and only one of theirs was a long 3rd down. You are being negative and misinformed. We out performed them on both sides of the game. How about red zone efficiency? Panthers 2-5 Falcons 4-5 You're right our D was terrible. Outschemed obviously. Enjoy the non-win . |

Although it pretty much seemed they could run the ball on us at will for most of the game. thank goodness our offense showed up for 3 quarters and we managed to score some points Chew on THAT, Petunia!

RE: Most predicitble Offense in the NFL
I think we won this game mainly on their turnovers and their poor LB corp.

After their last touchdown we dominated them in every aspect of the game. We won the turnover battle which we have done so rarely this year and we cut down the penalties in the second half which is so important. The real reasons were: We threw deep. Though we rarely connected we got that penalty which was huge and a good reason to throw deep. We ran the ball with success...always the key to this team Pressured the QB. Something we need to do regularly. Against the Packers and Bears we had success with pressure but our offense couldn't move or hang onto the ball. Maybe now we have our blueprint down. Next week will show how far we have come. |

I thought Roddy was gonna catch that one in the endzone IN SPITE of the PI. i know we won, i hate to come off negative, but just because we won, doesn't mean we played a perfect or mistake free game. I said it a bunch last year when we won so many close games, and i say it again today, we still have a lot of work to do. not causing a punt in the first 2 1/2 quarters should concern us. not being able to score in the 3rd quarter should concern us. giving up a buttload of rushing yards should concern us. we still have a lot of work to do. if we could just put this second half together with the first half of either of the two last weeks games, we'd be kicking everyones asses. Chew on THAT, Petunia!

Still lackluster in the third quarter. Of course, Smitty is going to say we have a lot of work to do and all that, but when are we going to see us get off the field on third down and play better in the third quarter? I'm frankly tired of hearing about it. I want to see us be better in those two aspects. I mean, I'm glad we're trying to fix it, but we're not a team with low expectations like we were the first couple years, this is the fourth year and we should see improvement in areas where we have struggled in the past. So far, we haven't seen it. I have optimism about many things for this team, but I have doubt and concern on many things too... Invest in the trenches with high draft picks and we will see both sides of the ball vastly improve.

I mean Matt Ryans first play ever was a bomb to Mike Jenkins for a touch down. Where did that go? I mean its frustrating. We won today because the offense got together, mainly because Turner got going and the play action did off of that and the defense got going in the 2nd half. The first half, was like watching UGA defense scheme 10 years ago, 4 rushers. Its not going to work against a good o-line and Cam Newton your going to have to Blitz and or add a extra rusher. Which they did in the 2nd half. I know teams try to get where the front 4 do it all, thats find and dandy, depending whose the QB and what kind of O-line your facing. We won but as ususal, it was frustrating with alot of the playcalling on both sides of the ball. Also Where are the trick plays Mr. Gadget.

RE: Most predicitble Offense in the NFL
I'm just glad we won. Matt played much better today, though he needs to work on overthrowing the deep ball. We NEED Turner to run like that every game. When he does, we win. Things still need work, but we really needed this victory.
Also, Sam Baker is the worst starting player in the NFL. |

RE: Most predicitble Offense in the NFL
well i'm intelligent enough to know that some people will just see a win and think we have no problems at all, hey we won. I'm also intelligent enough to know that while our OC may not be the absolute worst in the league, he's not the best either, and when someone with very little football knowledge can tell what the next play is going to be based on formations, a professional DC and/or player on the other team certainly can.
I don't act like or think that anything i say can or will matter as to who keeps their job or doesn't keep their job. Rafael Bush should be on this team instead of Shillinger IMO, but me thinking that didn't matter when we lost him to Denver. And i don't look for 'someone to blame', heck we don't have to look far for that, even in this win, there was plenty of mistakes and things done wrong to see. yeah we won, but as a fan, i'd sure like to see us get off the field on third down most of the time instead of being the team who holds the dubious position of being last in the league in third down defense. but hey we won, so we can't have any problems, right??? sarcasm /off i'm just a fan, what i think and say on a message board really only matters to some of you. and obviously it matters too much to some. i say you really need to just get something real in your life so you don't have to worry so much about my opinion being different than yours Chew on THAT, Petunia!
