You're talking play calling. The design of the Coryell offense can do pass first. See Mike Martz.

And where is this writer getting his numbers? We have been closer to a 5:4 ratio leaning towards the pass

Not according to the article we weren't.

And it doesn't matter what Koetter did in Jacksonville. The run was his only option there.

The article looks at completions instead of attempts. Why? No idea.

Ah, I didn't catch that.

This is very true. Jacksonville has always been a run first team because they've never really had a decent QB to build around.

That is strange. I've been trying to figure out a reason, but I don't know. My only assumption is that incomplete/intercepted passes are wasted plays.

My guess would be he either screwed up or comparing passing attempts to running attempts doesn't make his point for him.

Would love to see 100 of Turners rushing attempts replaced by 70 rushes from someone else and 30 passes caught out of the backfield. Turner had 4 receptions in the first 2 games last year and then the Falcons stopped throwing to him again.

Even 25 catches out of the backfield would force the other team to account for him in the passing game and help open up the offense.

Don't think they'll sign/draft another RB who can't catch passes out of the backfield.

He can catch out of the backfield. He can be dangerous in the open field with his size and speed. Another weapon that was wasted under Mularkey. Yes he put up good rushing numbers but he could have been deadly in the screen game.

That was exactly my thought. The article makes it sound like we will be using play calling from the 1960s.
