The original 'Thunder and Lightning' combo was powerback Cain and scatback Abel who played for the Eden Vipers. No runningback gets stronger as the game goes on. That is a fallacy. A running attack will wear down a defense. The fact is that a lone RB gets weaker, just like every other player, as the game goes on. If the defense slows at a faster rate than the RB it appears the RB is getting stronger. Relatively speaking his is, but in actuality he isn't. But, in a runningback by committee situation the RB's remain fresher throughout the game while the defense slows. The Saints RB's have been tearing it up in the 4th quarter. They are averaging 4.8 yards per carry. That's tied for 4th in the league. The Falcons are tied for 20th at 4.0 ypc. Turner is averaging 4.3 which is tied for 27th in the league for RB's with 50 or more carries. He has carried the ball 219 times which is second to only Jones-Drew's 230. I wouldn't count on him being around for several more years at this rate. Saints Fan Since 1967
