Matt Ryan Records
Matt Ryan set or tied several of Steve Bartkowski's team records this season. He recorded win number 56 setting a new record for wins by a QB for the Falcons.
Ryan set a Falcons record by completing 22 straight passes at the end of the Giants game and the beginning of the Lions game. Tonight was Ryan's 7 game this season with at least 3 touchdown passes. That's a new Falcons record breaking the old mark of 6 by Bart in 1981. Ryan now has 31 touchdown passes tying Bart's record of 31 set in 1981. Ryan has 7 games this season with at least 300 yards passing which is a new single-season record. Ryan had 6 games with 300 yards last season. Ryan is on the verge of getting the franchise record for completions, yards and touchdowns. All records that he should get next season. Completions Steve Bartkowski - 1,871 Matt Ryan - 1,626 Difference - 245 Yards Steve Bartkowski - 23,470 Matt Ryan - 18, 719 Difference - 4,751 Touchdowns Steve Bartkowski - 155 Matt Ryan - 126 Difference - 29 Ryan has 15 games of at least 300 yards passing which is a new Falcons record. Bartkowski had 12 such games in his career. Ryan has 17 games in his career with at least 3 touchdown passes. Bartkowski also had 17 games with 3 touchdown passes. ![]()

RE: Matt Ryan Records
I think he will have to wait 2 years for the yardage record....unless he puts up 5K next year! But he is amazing...and glad he is on our side!!

He's perfectly capable of getting to the 4,700 yard mark next season. If it were for the Saints game where he had only 165 yards he would get close to that mark this season. ![]()

RE: Matt Ryan Records
Depending how we do in the playoffs, but they have already said their going to Matts extension this off season. I bet he will get if we go far, probably a 6-7 year deal worth over 100 million, but by the time that's over. He will have every Atlanta record period and will be setting new ones.

RE: Matt Ryan Records
A couple more records Ryan has a chance to set this season. He has a chance to set the Falcons single-season record for completion percentage in a season. He's currently at 69.0%. The previous record is 67.3% set by Steve Bartkowski in 1984.
Ryan's QB Rating is currently at 100.2. That is currently the 2nd best QB Rating in a season by a Falcons QB. Chris Chandler posted a 100.9 QB Rating in 1998. ![]()

RE: Matt Ryan Records
GO MATT GO! I wanna see him break all the records and bring home the Trophy.....
I remember when we draft him....I saw an article somewhere that was talking about TD and Smith that said some about 4-5 years they expected to bring home a trophy.....At first I thought the draft pick was wasted on Ryan because I had saw an after game interview where they were talking about ATL needing a QB and he said something to the tune of no thanks......I was shocked when I heard and thought he would be a cry baby like Eli when the chargers wanted to draft him. But when I knew we had the one was that Bears game that first year....They scored fast and I was screaming at the TV that the prevent defense was a CLUSTERF$%@.....needless to say they scored and we had like 30 seconds (I use to know the exact times but I am old and these things fade..._) Anyway he threw that spot on pass to Jenkin on the Sideline and we brought the kicker in to win the game.....I looked at my roommate (as I was in Iraq) and I said WOW we have one hell of a QB with a fighting spirit.....SO glad I was SO WRONG..... |

Re: Matt Ryan Records
For me I was convinced in still one of Ryan's worst games, game number two which was down in Tampa. He got hammered time after time and kept getting up and fought to the end.
I already knew he was smart and hard working, but he's was a tough Mofo too! |

I don't expect them to play much, but I'd like to think we play the starters first half and run the score up so we can get them out. To do that, Matt will have some yards, probably a couple hundred. If that happens, the yardage record will be well within reach Chew on THAT, Petunia!

RE: Matt Ryan Records
I knew Matt Ryan was something special when he was still at BC. 2007 on the road in the rain against Virginia Tech. Ryan and the entire BC offense had played like total crap the whole game. But then with about 4 minutes left in the game Ryan flipped the switch and BC scored 2 touchdowns to steal the win. That's when he earned the Matty Ice nickname.
This video is really funny. Matt tackles Jeff Jagodzinski after throwing the game-winning touchdown. There's another good video. But as someone else said, the moment he proved himself in the NFL was that Bucs game. He got beat up big time in that first half and then came out in the second half and played pretty damn well. He showed he could take an absolute beating and not let it effect him. ![]()

Ugh don't remind me of that game. I've tried to block it out of my memory ever since.
