Falcons MM shits the bed in OT

RE: MM shits the bed in OT
Mularkey didn't manage OT well at all.

First possession 2nd and 2, run the ball. 3rd and 2, I actually didn't mind the play call because it would have worked and Douglas may have still been running. The snap falls on the center there.

The 2nd possession, the overturn on 3rd down was a joke. I had 0 problem, and I repeat 0 problem with Mike Smith making the call to go for it on 4th and inches, what I do have a problem with is him allowing Mike Mularkey to call a running play to Turner, when we have a 6'4 QB under center. If our line can't get enough of a push for a few inches on a QB sneak then we didn't deserve to win the game. Any other call besides a sneak on that 4th and inches play is idiotic play calling.

I don't see how he shit the bed. On don't know how Ryan was supposed to sneak that forward when the C and both guards were instantly blasted backwards right at the snap, for several yards. Ryan would have been blown back just as well. Our line failed, and that's all there is to it.

No to get pushed in that whole series, if Mularkey went even half pass half run like normal, we would have never been put in that position. The saints were expecting pass, if we would have run at any time, it would have caught them flat footed. But Of course Mularkey is so stupid he can't see that. He put us in that position. Hell Matt ryan falling forward would have been better then giving it to turner, or to rodgers around the bend. Mularkey screwed the whole OT to pieces is all I mean. Angry

So basically what some of you are saying is our Center, McClure lost us the game because he screwed up a potential big play to Douglas on a screen with an awful snap and then on 4th and inches he got destroyed.

linemen use different technique when blocking on a QB dive...

you can't really blame one person in team losses...certain people stand out like Roddy's penalties and dropped passes, Weems comical punt decisions and penalties, Gonzo's drop, Julio's drop, the line on 4th down, the play-calling in OT...I think people are just making the argument you can't get mad at the call, but the execution. that's fair...I don't think they got that type of push up front all game long

Oh and if Sean Payton was in the same spot I'm 100% sure he sneaks it with Brees there. And yes he would have went for it.

DING DING DING we have a winner!

my thoughts exactly, why hand the ball off and not run the sneak, geesh, two chain links? C'MON MAN

but in all seriousness, that was just ONE thing that cost us this game today

Chew on THAT, Petunia!

RE: MM shits the bed in OT
I was working, and got off of my shift just in time to catch the game when we got the ball @ our 6. Was following as much as I could on my phone. Was shocked the Saints got pass happy when we were down to 1 timeout. Outside of that I'm not sure about anything much that went on during the game. Didn't see it with my eyes, can only comment on the ending I saw.

Its the mentality that I have been whining about. No more straight football, play to the end...instead we have to try and do visually sensational crap that doesn't win games. Tired of all three of them as well as Dimitroff.
