This is a horrible hire. Not only did the guy once coordinate the second worst defense in the NFL, he has a losing record in the playoffs, only winning in the wild card round. We don't need someone who can get us a wild card title, we need someone who can get us a Super Bowl title. There is absolutely no evidence in his resume that Nolan is that person. None.

This is just another case of Mike Smith hiring one of his old buddies. Where was the due dilligence? Where were the reports of other DC candidates visiting FB? What a goddamn joke.

That's it. I'm done.

This might of been funny if it weren't dumb and a direct slap in the face of fans that have real concerns over the OC, but I'm sure you haven't been sitting here since the the DK hire hoping you could do something like this to prove a point.

Dick Lebeau has Super Bowl Rings and is in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The fact that we didn't even try to go after someone like that tells me that Mike Smith is more concerned with hiring his BFF than winning.

Just wanted to see what it felt like to be a knee-jerk drama queen. Now that I have, I realize it doesn't suit me. Too bad - I had a really good "Smith, Koetter and Nolan all last worked in Florida before coming to the Falcons" conspiracy rant in the works, replete with a clever "Florida Falcons" catch phrase. Oh, well.

Anyway, looks like another good hire. Good to see this regime isn't afraid to shake things up a bit when the results aren't there.

you guys are gonna regret saying bad things aboutKoetter...he had no talent and still got MJD a rushing title.....don't think he isn't salivating over all the weapons we have, he just need to shore up the o-line and go to town.....

Mark it down now, Koetter will be the best hire of the offseason, though I am extremly happy with the Nolan hire also....he is a SOLID individual.....

I honestly believe that 90% of the people defending the Koetter hire either didn't know who he was prior to the hiring, or would have never believed the Falcons would've hired him if you told them they would prior to the announcement.

I like what he's been selling, but I still have no idea how he got the job considering our circumstances and his resume.
