Looking at the 2013 schedule and I'M EXCITED!!!
Yes losing in the NFCCG hurts but looking at next year schedule, I'm more excited than worry. There's plenty of tough team for us to play, but I'm ready to Rise up once again, but this time SMASHING EVERYONE to the ground!
After beating Seattle and led the 49ers for 52 mins of the game, i feel like we have what it takes to go toe to toe with anyone in the league now. I dont care what the media and everyone else say about us, but doing what we did in the playoffs this year changed my mind about the Falcons. I used to pray for us to have an easy schedule, have home field advantage, meet easy opponent in the playoffs and all that. But now i have complete faith in our team. I feel like we have a physical present in the team after how we handle the 49ers, and now adding on the confident with playoffs experience, WE CAN BEAT ANYBODY ANY WHERE, NOT JUST IN THE DOME. Here's our schedule for next year: Home St. Louis Rams Seattle Seahawks New England Patriots New York Jets Washington Redskins Carolina Panthers (Div.) New Orleans Saints (Div.) Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Div.) Away Arizona Cardinals San Francisco 49ers Buffalo Bills Miami Dolphins Green Bay Packers Carolina Panthers (Div.) New Orleans Saints (Div.) Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Div.) I feel like we can beat anybody on that list. There's not a team that I would say superiority over us. Personally and honestly i think we could go 16-0, yes call me a homer or call me crazy w.e but we can beat anybody on that list. But to bring myself back to land, and not to sound like i been smoking green eversince sunday, I'd say we will be 12-4 next year. We would go 4-2 within our division, sweeping the Saints. Reason why? Cause I feel like we're at the stage where we got over with beating New Orleans, it used to be our biggest game of the season, now, i wouldnt say its just another game for us, but we just got over the hump, and as long as we dont beat ourselves we could win against them. Patriots, Seahawks, 49ers and Packers will all be tough game. I see us spliting 2-2 in those game. Hopefully we get our revenge against 49ers, like how did to the Giants earlier this year. 2012 was not a lost year for us. We gained more than just playoff success. Remember how other fans made fun of us in for choking in national spot light? Well we did just fine this year, beating Broncos, Saints and the overrated Cowboys on National TV was fun. Remember how they always called New Orleans was our big brother? Well egging their bus and picking off Drew Brees 5 times was awesome. Also, when none say we were physical enough, and dont have a chance against the Giants? yeah that Shut out was awesome too. But the biggest win of this year was, the win over Atlanta! Our fan really came out and cheer for the team this year! I was very happy to see all the Falcons flag flying high on i85 last couple week, seeing how loud the Dome was on playoffs game!!! Yeah blowing that 17 points lead in the NFCCG sucks, but as i think back on the season, i cant help but smile and enjoyed all the good memories that we had over the season. Im telling you, this Falcons team is not going anywhere, have a great (long) off season, but come next September. GET READY TO RISE UP BIG TIME!!!

RE: Looking at the 2013 schedule and I'M EXCITED!!!
That's a brutal schedule, not many games you can mark down as Ws at all. 3 non divisional away game and 2 non divisional home games and that's about it.
If we have a winning record next season and make it to the playoffs it wont be because we had an easy schedule. Going to need at least 5 wins from teams in our division (always hard games) and teams that made the playoffs this year. we play 6 games against division opponents and 5 games against playoff teams (4 against division winners) we will have to beat all of the teams we are supposed to beat (hasn't traditionally been a problem) as well as at least split the games against divisional and playoff opponents. Going to be a really tough season IMO. We also play Cam Newton twice, Rg3, Russel Wilson and Squidward. 5 games against mobile QBs is going to be a difficult obstacle to overcome. we are going to fight tooth and nail just to get to 10-6, and I don't think 10-6 will be good enough to make the playoffs net year. Last season we had 4-5 games to worry about, this year we have 11. Hopefully TB or Camrolina will collapse before the second half of the season when we play most of our divisional games, they would go a long way towards helping us make the playoffs. I don't think that going 3-3 in the division will be enough this year, 4-2 just might get us there though but even then we still have to go 2-3 against Redskins (probably a win), Seahawks (Probably a loss), Patriots (Probably a loss), Packers (toss up), and 49ers (toss up) If this team gets to 11 or 12 wins this year I will be truly impressed |

And seahawks? Didn't we shut them down in the first half and led them 20 points? And the fact that they lost their Defensive coordinator? I don't see why that is a Lost at "home".

We don;t have the same defensive personnel as the Ravens, and that Seahawks team also hung 28 on us in the 2nd half. I'm not saying we can't win either of those games, but we are going to have to make some significant improvements on the defensive side of the ball if we want to come out with a W. |

RE: Looking at the 2013 schedule and I'M EXCITED!!!
I see 10-6 ..
Losses to Saints 2x New England Carolina or Tampa SF Green Bay Better hope we get Buffalo early in season as well. They are going to be a good team next year and don't want to face them in winter in upstate NY Sea -will be tough as well wanting some revenge tough schedule. 10-6 ![]() I'm delusional from our playoff loss against GB . Don't take me seriously until year 2413 . - Added by Phocis because of this post. Warned here. Do not remove. |

RE: Looking at the 2013 schedule and I'M EXCITED!!!
all this talk about what we're going to do next year, and what other teams are going to be able to do next year.....
and we have no clue how our own roster is going to change (hopefully for the better) or any of them. I realize for the most part our core will stay the same, but we have a lot of question marks. Hopefully we manage to hang on to the ones who are good to be winners, and remove those parts that while maybe good, not quite good enough. not trying to be negative, and certainly not going to be over zealous, but I see Nolan with a whole offseason to put some more pieces in and scheme up a little better for the mobile QB's. Wilson and Kap, should hit somewhat of a sophomore slump. we don't even know if RGIII will recover in time to start the season. I think 12-4, 13-3 is entirely possible, 11-5/10-6 is well within our grasp. and as already mentioned, who knows what record it will take to get into the playoffs Chew on THAT, Petunia!

RE: Looking at the 2013 schedule and I'M EXCITED!!!
Yeah trying to pick W's and L's at this point is foolish.
Can you guys imagine if we get an Aldon Smith type DE? Or a Gino Atkins type DT? Or a Navarro Bowman type ILB? Or a Doug Martin type RB? Or Jimmy Graham type TE? If we get at least one 15 sack/20 pressures guy and a 1000+ yard RB to go along with Quizz, added to what we already had this year, and we're the #1 seed again even with that ridiculously hard looking schedule. We're going to do something on the RB side. There's no question about that. And if McClure is gone and the OL plays better, we're going to have a crazy good offense that will be very hard to stop. Even if we lose Tony. A better running game will make a huge difference. We are not on the decline. We can easily improve the offense and defense which should equate to another very good year. |

Crazy that 3 out of the 5 players that you name is drafted in the late 1st round or later (Geno in 4th, and Bowman in 3rd) Which is do-able for us to get. If only we have another good draft like 2008...

RE: Looking at the 2013 schedule and I'M EXCITED!!!
i will wait and see how the draft goes. I had us going 12-4 this year....I can tell you this though.....when ATL has a strong preseason we typically have a rough regular season and vice versa.....not sure why put I knew watch our preseason we were going to make a hell of a run....I did however think after almost blowing it against seattle that there was no way we would do that against the niners......so egg on my face there.......
Next year we will make the playoffs....possible even win the NFC south again....would be the first time EVER! but I will wait and see how the draft goes....I typically go into draftnik mode in mid to late FEB....I seem to do very well with the players I pick....I use to do huge mocks on various website....drafting the Ryan Kalil's and Elvis Dumervill's (yes I new Elvis would be a good one.....) Also thought we screwed the pooch drafting Harry Douglas over Michael Bush.....still think we pooched that.....we would be sitting hear with Quizz and Bush (I think Turner would have been gone at least a year ago if not traded sooner.) we should maybe look to set one of those up on this site! If we do.....i would gladly choose a name out of a hat or play the Falcons could be fun....perhaps shortly after the combine?
