RE: Like last year
Some quick observations...
DeCoud is simply not a playmaker. Never has been, never will be. Whenever the spotlight is on and he has a chance to make a game changing play, he wilts every time. Might as give Sanders a shot whenever he gets up to speed. The middle of our defense is a third down conversion waiting to happen. We don't tackle like a championship team. Until this changes, we will not be a championship team. O-line is still garbage against good defenses. 5 sacks given up. Lord knows how many pressures and QB hits. Our playmakers never seem to be in a position to make plays. On the rare occasions our QB actually had time to get the ball downfield today, nobody was ever open. Ryan needs to learn that a checkdown to Snelling on 3rd and long will never result in a 1st down. Ever. Might as well just heave it downfield and see what happens. That's all I got. Now, excuse me while I go vomit. |

We wont make it to the playoffs let alone win a playoff game if ryan doesnt grow a sack. He's in the nfl now, there are guys getting paid 15 million a year to decapitate him. If he cant get past that he needs to pass the torch to someone who can. |

-2 turnovers 9-65 penalties Last year against Pittsburgh 6-16 3rd down 0 on turnovers 3-24 penalties there are reasons why you lose, they usually are fixable |

Everybody's got their head so far up ryans "elite" asshole that they don't see other things going on around them. Roethlisberger plays behind the WORST oline in the league. (per pff) Vick did pretty good today for being under constant pressure. I agree that qbs need time to throw and our oline needs serious help, but at the same time i saw plenty of opportunities to wing it down the field and ryan DIDNT TAKE 1 SHOT. NOT 1. Mularkey, the oline, nobody is to blame for him checking it down on 3rd down far behind the 1st down marker. At least throw it up and give your ELITE receiver a chance to make a play on it. You guys are acting like this is just one game. This is ryan's steelo ive said it before ill say it again, until ryan does something significant consistently hes nothing more than a game manager with great intangibles and an average arm at best. |

We run very simple single move routes that are easy to defend. The second drives me crazy. Don't throw an INT on 1st down or in the redzone, but if it's 3rd and 10+, and you can take a chance deep, do it...and INT is basically like a punt in that situation. If they're not willing to go intermediate to deep several times per game (even if there's slight risk of INT), the offense will never open up. |

RE: Like last year
I stand by my Oline statement. It was the collapse of the Falcons today. When you can destroy our Oline with just a 4 man rush, you can't do a damn thing. Somehow Ryan got over 300 yards today, but he played poorly and was protected poorly.

The arm has nothing to do with it. Just stop it. Other than that, you're not far off. The broadcast team flashed a stat in the 3rd quarter showing that the Falcons had attempted just one pass of 20+ yards up to that point. I saw Eli Manning attempt two deep passes in the same series just a while ago. You can't make explosive plays if you don't attempt them. |
