RE: Koetter set to interview with Eagles, Browns, and Cardinals
I have the same issue with losing Koetter as I did with Mularkey, but less so; continuity is key. Hopefully we don't lose him, but if we do, we already know that we can adjust to a new OC and still maintain a top notch offense. It is hard to believe we could do it two years in a row, especially if we bring in a more complex scheme and don't hold onto the things we have been doing over the past five years, but I am hopeful that it can be done if need be.
We traded a more prominent running game for a more prominent passing game and didn't see much of a drop off (I haven't looked at the numbers comparison in a few weeks) in production or wins. We have all seen how focusing less on the running game has impacted our offensive line and the ability to use the running game as a real threat, but have also seen the screen game do wonders for us and keep defenses guessing. I am of the opinion that a true running game is more important, especially at this time of year, but I think we have the players and coaches to win the Super Bowl without it. |
