Just a little tidbit I realized today
The Falcons have opened the season on the road in 5 of the past 7 years.
2006 - @ Carolina 2007 - @ Minnesota 2008 - vs Detroit 2009 - vs Miami 2010 - @ Pittsburgh 2011 - @ Chicago 2012 - @ Kansas City In those 7 years, we are 2-3 in road openers and 2-0 in home openers. The Man In Black

RE: Just a little tidbit I realized today
Yup, Matt mentioned it in the press conference. This was the first road win, in a season opener, of his career. Ive heard people mention how impressive it is to get a win on the road in the first game of the season. I agree. It is not easy for anyone to win on the road, let alone in a season opener or by blowout. Several teams did it this week, including us.

Just a little tidbit I realized today
Another weird scheduling deal, this is the first time I remember seeing a schedule with no road trips or home stands. We alternate home / away every week.

I kind of like the schedule this way. I mean, they guys always get to return after every away game, meaning they don't get burned out on the road.

I like the schedule because it keeps the team from getting too comfortable. Going back the last few years the Falcons usually had a stretch of 3 straight home games at some point during the season and they usually ended up losing at least 1 of those games. Last year it was the Saints, Titans and Vikings all in a row and we lost the Saints game. In 2008 it was the Saints, Broncos and Panthers game and we lost the Broncos game. ![]()
