RE: It's Not Mularkey, It's Ryan
I said before this draft that Colin Kaepernick will go down as the best QB taken...I stand by that.
We need to trade Matt for Colin K. and a 2nd rounder. SF gets a QB that would work wonders in their system, and we get a QB that will take advantage of 1 on 1 coverage on the outside. And a QB that has the mobility to maneuver around the pocket when it breaks down. I guarantee you, Colin K. would be a beast for the Falcons. |

Coop your opinion wont be very popular here but I agree with about 90% of it, and I salute for having the balls to say it.
I've been saying Ryan is missing something. Sure he has talent but there's something missing. That something that Brady, Big Ben, Stafford, and Brees have. Despite what people think. This team is Turners team.. his success dictates our team succces. I personally believe Ryan has adopted the mild mannered nature ofthe his coaches. A coaching change maybe all he needs |

It makes no sense to stop blaming the cause and point the finger at something that's a result of the problem instead. Great post. Matt more than anyone has put this team on his back and won games for us we had no business winning. The fact is our quiver is getting low, and teams know the plays we are going to make before the snap. We've been figured out and it's forcing Matt in bad situations. Obviously the playcalling isn't the only issue, we are fundamentally unsound, we make stupid mistakes, but honestly, I don't think it's because our players are a bunch of bums, (except Baker, Dunta, and Bosher, of course). I honestly think the tightly wound, conservative, passive culture this coaching staff instills in the team is the #1 reason we are where we are. |

Ok here we go: Matt Ryan doesn't throw deep balls because he cant. He doesn't even have the self-confidence to pull the trigger, so why should we as fans have the confidence in him? Julio and Roddy in 1 on one coverage on the outside should have been taken advantage of. Teams have figured Ryan out. When a defense is giving you single coverage on the outside w/ receivers like Roddy and Julio, because they know you wont take advantage of it, there is a problem. |

He's had games where he's had one good run, but other than that, Ryan has been the driver of this offense. |

His completed deep balls are usually over the middle. Someone else correctly noted elsewhere that our deep routes are along the sidelines. Assuming Ryan has a problem hitting deep routes on the sidelines, that's a scheme issue, not an arm issue. |
