Falcons If this game did not cost MM his job, then fuck this team

RE: If this game did not cost MM his job, then fuck this team
This is not on Mularky.

The offensive philosophy comes from Smitty and he is missing the point this year. He still wants to grind it out and churn yards on the ground. The problem is this year the NFL isn't playing like that. There is a more pedal to the metal spread and score philosophy going on across the league. Look at the Bills.

They were a run first team last year. They changed it up and now they throw like crazy. Defense has taken a back seat. When the run isn't working the team needs to spread the field and throw those slants and short passes over the middle, like they did with some success in the preseason, and give up the run.

Smitty is a smart guy. He should be able to see the sea change around the league. He should understand that his game plan isn't working. But the question is how long before? Next week is a big game. We lose at home to Carolina our season is over.

Everyone is pissed at Ryan for not being able to deliver the deep ball.

This is the first year he's actually been told to do so.

We're expecting a lot from a rookie receiver, no matter how good he has looked at times, its still a lot to ask. I hate to say it but wait till next year. This offense will be better.

I don't get that at all. After we went up 14-0 we only ran the ball what, 5 more times? That's not grinding it out.

They made adjustments. We didn't (or, put more bluntly, the adjustments we made were away from what worked and toward what did not). I don't put either of the INTs on Ryan -- the first one maybe because he threw into double coverage, but Gonzo makes that catch 9 times out of 10. The 2nd one was a 1st down for sure if Roddy just catches the football instead of spotting it up like it's a beach volleyball game. The real problem I saw was the creativity we saw in the 1st quarter just went away. It's like we got a lead, so hey, lets stop doing what got us the lead and try out our spread offense! It's really ridiculous.

More like not moving from what isn't working anymore.

I hate to say it, but it seems painfully obvious that MM has either no idea or no inclination on how to adjust when the other team adjusts. I must admit it's the most aggravating thing

"TOUCHDOWN! MY GOD, A TOUCHDOWN! WE THREW IT TO HAYNES! WE JUST STUFFED THEM WITH FIVE SECONDS LEFT! MY GOD ALMIGHTY, DID YOU SEE WHAT HE DID? DAVID GREENE JUST STRAIGHTENED UP AND WE SNUCK THE FULLBACK OVER! … WE JUST STEPPED ON THEIR FACE WITH A HOBNAILED BOOT AND BROKE THEIR NOSE! WE JUST CRUSHED THEIR FACE!" - Larry Munson broadcast UGA vs Tenn, 2001

Rest In Peace, Larry. You will be missed.
GO DAWGS! HUNKER DOWN!

16 carries is far from churning on the ground man.

I'm so sick of hearing "we got away from the run". We get away from the run BECAUSE IT QUITS WORKING. Once teams figure it out, we lose yards on runs. This talk needs to stop.

The same can be said of our passing game considering Turner ran the ball 16 times.

Bottom line, we are playing like an average team.

We are an average team, no matter what Samuel L Jackson wants you to believe.
