RE: I'm glad they broke the record
A few of the holds were not needed. Ryan would of had the ball off in plenty of time, we already know he is Gumby and can take the hit. The line played really poor. Clabo getting beat multiple times even when they were rushing three. I guess the bright spot was Ryan didn't take too much of a beating

RE: I'm glad they broke the record
I just hope this is the catalyst towards BVG getting canned.

It was announced way before the game that if the record was broken at a non-critical point in a game (Atlanta or Carolina) that the game would be halted and Brees given the ball. This was okayed in advance by the league office. The same thing happened when Emmitt Smith broke the rushing record and I am pretty sure the same thing happened when Rice broke the TD record. RE: I'm glad they broke the record
So when Drew is sat down next week and Brady breaks the record, will he get a ceremony?

People love the Pittsburgh Steelers and their zone blitzing, but every time we drop Abe, Kroy, etc. into coverage people flip the fuck out. Like I said, most people don't know what they want or even know much about the game, they just want whatever we do to work. Zone blocking you say? Fuck that, it sucks... Texans turn around and dominate with it. Zone blitzing you say? Fuck that, it's terrible. Pittsburgh dominates with it. Risky 4th down calls? Fuck that, it's stupid. The Patriots do it all the time. It's about execution, not the system. |

Interestingly enough, in 1972 when Dave Hampton became the first Falcon ever to rush for 1000 yards, they did a similar thing, stopping play, having a short ceremony. Then when play resumed he lost 6 yards and ended up with 995 for the season. So, if somehow Brees was sacked a few times to start the game, then injured, putting him back below the record would they take the ball back? Seriously though, I know that sack yardage counts against a team's passing total, but does it also count against the QB's passing stats? Always seemed strange to me to count sack yardage like that, since a pass never actually happened, and may not have even without the sack. |

So, a pass to Sproles for a four yard loss on the first play of the game followed immediately by a sack which ends Brees' regular season would do the trick. In other words, ain't gonna happen. |
