I'm not down on the guy himself, he seems like a good guy and I assume he is semi-competent b/c he is coaching in the NFL. But at the same time its a completely unspectacular hire when the franchise needed someone that would bring excitement, not just for the fans, but for the players as well. What out O lacked more than anything last year wasn't play calling or execution, it was confidence, fire and aggression, none of which I saw from the Jags offense in Cooter's 5 years with the team. I hope the guy does well with us, but at least initially he looks like another vanilla hire from a vanilla coach to control what has turned into a completely vanilla offense.
