Because every kid would change their "F"s to "E"s to avoid trouble with a stroke of their pen. Much harder to make those "D"s into "B"s (not that I admit to trying)!

RE: How would you grade Tds 2012 off-season moves.
Thanks for the comments. My basis for my grading was on value added this season. Injured players brought no value. Drafted players besides Konz for the most part produced little on the field. I hope they reach or exceed all TDs expectations but my grades are on last year only. I expect Harry to be more involved as we groom TGs replacement. I have no idea why the staff waited to let him return punts or if they will allow him to do more in the future but last year he was not very productive.
My Biermann grade May be a little off based on where I thought he would be in this system. Moore, Decoud, Spoon, and Kroy are the guys I expected to benefit most from Nolan. Those other guys are in the probowl picture. Kroy is being seen as a guy that possibly needs to be replaced. But going on value I would raise his grade slightly. ![]()

Hope he can turn it around net year. As far as rating the off season in terms of value added I think doing that with the draft can lead to complications. Both Konz and Ewing should be starters for a long time and we are at the point now where we don't have a ton of holes to fill every offseason. I keep seeing people talk about wanting another 2008 draft where we pulled in a haul of starters but chances are that won't happen again. We have a level of talent on this team, as Radical said, here anything other than a first rounder would likely have trouble finding a place in the top 22. Grading FA IMO is where taking value added to the season can really be worthwhile. Most FA pickups are brought in with the expectation to contribute and make an impact from day 1. While the Draft is the place to build for the future on a team like ours FA is where you address immediate needs for the upcoming. season |
