Emotions run deeper after a loss than a win. I wonder why.

The odds of running the table and notching a perfect season are long. Congrats to the '72 Dolphins.

First of all, I must commend Matt Ryan. He did his part and then some. I feel very confident that he will lead the team to a Super Bowl championship.

Secondly, let us recognize that defense wins games and that a winning defense must stop the run. Our defense has a great deal of trouble with the run, so we have a problem. The question is whether this problem can be fixed for the play offs. I think that the run defense will continue to be our weakness but that the return of Spoon and the increasingly improving Peters will help us greatly.

Thirdly, our offense must be able to gain short yardage on the ground. This facet of the offense was our biggest problem last season and it continues to be so. This seems to be the most vexxing problem facing Mike Smith and Koetter. The scheme v. personnel debate will continue, but I think it boils down to our guards and center doing a poor job. I don't have an answer to this problem and I don't see one coming from the FO nor the coaching staff.

I'll agree with that. We should not have needed 4 downs on the one yard line to score. Should put quizz in or Snelling both of them could have hit pay dirt. Or even a Matt Ryan sneak.

What I will say is they threw the house at us. They played and didn't leave anything on the field. And they only just beat us. You could tell we wanted to win. But the mentality of this being do or die was not there. It was needed for the win, but its not pivotal to the season at present. I expect a better all around performance next week.
