How Do You See the Philly Game going Down?
What do you see happening this Sunday?
I don't really have a feel for who is going to win this game, but I've got a feeling that both teams are going to play very good football. If I have a worry, it is that the Falcons strength plays into the Eagles strength, which is their secondary. I think we are likely to see an attack from the Falcons this week that is very similar to the Redksins game - extra heavy on Tony Gonzalez. But when we do get the ball to the WRs, we need big plays from them this week. The Eagles aren't an easy team to march on. On defense, I think the Falcons need to play conservatively, and avoid the big plays. If you make the Eagles drive it slow, they will usually mess up along the way. At least that has been their record for the last two years. Ok, I think I'll go ahead and go on record. Falcons win it on a last second FG 23-22. How do you see it? |

RE: How Do You See the Philly Game going Down?
This one seems destined to come down to turnovers. The Falcons are better at ball security but the Eagles have made it a priority and so maybe they will do better with that. Also while Vick is more prone to the bad pass, he throws so hard that his passes are more difficult to intercept. Therefore I think the interception battle is a wash.
If the turnover battle doesn't do it, then the red zone will be the big thing. Both teams have been poor here though and so it may come down to big plays and, in particular, 3rd down efficiency. Hear the Falcons have the edge but not enough to feel confident about the outcome. The one chance for the Falcons that the Eagles don't have is to strike early and get aclear lead. If this happens the Eagles will generally abandon the run witch would be a good thing for the Falcons. Also the Philly crowd is ready to revolt which could make things ugly as well. So opening the playbook and working to strike early seems like a particularly good way to approach this contest. |

I agree that getting an early lead in this game is HUGE.
Not only do the Falcons need to make the Eagles one dimensional, but they need to maintain some semblance of a threat with their own running game, especially since that is one of the holes in the wide 9. |

RE: How Do You See the Philly Game going Down?
You know, before the season, I had this game chalked up as a loss. I figured that the Eagles, coming off a bye, would cause major problems for us. Now, however, I'm thinking differently. I believe the Eagles will have spent their bye week working on the turnovers, and I believe Mike Vick will attempt to play his best game against us. However, I think Nolan will have a gameplan ready for Vick and those speedy receivers. I believe Corey Peters will return and help solidify the run game. And I believe Asante will have at least 1 INT and will play lights out.
I've got the Falcons winning 34-17. The Man In Black

I think Vick has 3 turnovers. We need to capitalize on them.

Start fast, finish strong.
Score quick and early. The Falcons need to get pressure on Vick and force turnovers. A little of that razzle dazzle to confuse him would hurt either. He is having an awful year and is the reason why this team is faltering. Our offense needs to attack attack attack. They don't have the same guy calling the defensive plays. I don't know if that hurts or helps them but it could be a strain. Most importantly our receivers need to hold on to the ball. And our backs need to do the same to open the screen game. We run the play action and open the screen game we should have no problem moving the ball. The Giants had success with that. On defense we need to attack Vick break him and force turnovers. Everyone has been doing this this season we need to get on that bandwagon. If we can contain the big play, that is how they live on offense, we have them. Slow McCoy. We can do that. There were games when other teams top runners were held when it was important. This is a very winnable game. Despite their record the Eagles are reeling right now. Time to strike. My biggest fear is that Samuel is so intent on having a big game that he might jump too many routes and give up big plays. He might also get a pic or two. |

This may actually be good for a lot of Philly fans. I have a friend who is a Philly fan and the general consensus is they want us to blow them out so that Reid and Vick gets let go...lol |

This game will come down to who executes better. That's it. I have no prediction cuz its just unpredictable. This is a game you do NOT bet on.
