Homegrown Falcons
I want you guys to look at this. This is pretty cool. It's the Falcons starting lineup. Now look at where it what teams drafted players. You'll see nearly every starter the Falcons have was drafted by the Falcons. That's pretty damn impressive. The exceptions are Michael Turner (Chargers), Tony Gonzalez (Chiefs), John Abraham (Jets), Dunta Robinson (Texans) and Asante Samuel (Patriots). That's it. Every other starter was drafted by the Falcons.
Another thing that is pretty impressive is the Falcons average age is 26.9 years. The Falcons average NFL experience is 4.6 years. Linky ![]()

RE: Homegrown Falcons
The key is to resign all of those is gonna be a bitch. I hope TD is ready cause we got Willy Mo, Weatherspoon, Matt Ryan, Julio and others to resign in the next 3-5 years.

RE: Homegrown Falcons
I think we will be fine resigning those core guys. We have a pretty good retention rate on our players that we draft. I'm unsure about our RB situation. Do we draft a guy next year or signs free agent.
My inclination is to look to the draft as it will cost is less. Fresher legs and we would have enough veteran years in our back field to support a new leaner feature runner. I'd still like them to have power back qualities. But the back has to be all around and dynamic. Same for the TE. It would ease tendency issues. |

I thought last year we were destined to lose 4 or 5 starters and key players off the roster because they were free agents. But TD did a great job and the only guy we lost was Curtis Lofton who won't be missed much in Nolan's defense.
