Hayden joins the Bears
Quote:Veteran cornerback Kelvin Hayden has signed a one-year deal with the Chicago Bears, Jason La Canfora of NFL Network reported.

Hayden played six seasons with the Indianapolis Colts before joining the Atlanta Falcons last year. He played in eight games for the Falcons, with one start.

A second-round pick of the Colts in 2005, Hayden was a mainstay on their playoff teams. He has 11 interceptions in 85 games, including 47 starts.

So either we really think either Owens, Franks, or Walls can play the nickle finally or we're drafting a CB with our 1st pick at 55.

Secondary is thinest at safety right now though, so I don't know.

OL, TE, and S/CB appear to be the priorities.

Man if he could stay healthy then he would be an above average CB. This is one person I wish that we would have kept on the roster.

I don't think the FO is gonna get a CB early in this draft...maybe late tho or an undrafted one

RE: Hayden joins the Bears
I'd say if we go corner as high as the second let it be Trumaine Johnson. He is a big Hybrid player that would give us a corner and a player who can play as a 3rd safety on the field. Guy is a ball hawk and a sure tackler. He could be a good fit. But that to me indicates a giving up on Franks and Walls. Who to be fair in their little time on the field have outperformed owens.

I hate to say it, bit Owens was our 3rd best CB last year. Hayden was an injury just limping along.

Owens is easily one of the FASTEST players on our team, hopefully this will finally be the year that that allows him to making some good plays that aren't limited to touchdown saving rundowns, But I think he will have to battle our 2nd round pick in training camp for the job.

I guess now it's clear that we viewed Hayden and Sanders as mercenaries.
