RE: Greatest Thing I've read in reference for the game
I felt pretty confident we would get a field goal in 31 seconds, but I couldn't fully enjoy that fact because I was so pissed at the defensive collapse.
I think the biggest problem was psychological -- just that playoff monkey on our back. But a close second is something to do with the scheme -- we didn't want Russell Wilson to get running opportunities, so we didn't rush him (and partly, we simply were unable to get to him), and that meant that our backs were in coverage *forever*. That started breaking down *horribly*, and yet we did not adjust. Why didn't we adjust? Probably because of the psychological monkey on our backs. Still, it is an inexcusable collapse. We were absolutely *dominant* in the first half, and a defensive *travesty* in the second half. |
