She said she couldn't be around me for this one because I had fully connected myself into this game all week differently to how I am normally. I went all in. Then I saw the time. Got myself up. And I had my highland mint Atlanta Falcons 2010 NFC Championship coin but between my teeth and from the moment Jacquizz caught the ball gave all my attention to that moment. I didn't want to miss us achieve greatness and new that would be the case when I saw the 30 seconds.
HOWEVER, I nearly drop kicked the TV when we practically kicked an onside. I think the pressure got to Bosher. Someone should have had a word with him an reminded him of what part of the game we were in. Remember he is a 2nd yr guy. He still needs to be coaches both physically and mentally. He has been awesome this year after having so many call for his head last year. Perhaps it was complacent to think that he would be fully present in the moment. It's like he didn't know what te score was and was trying to get the ball back. Watch that kick. I've never seen anyone tap a squib kick like that. I seriously think he was going for a recovery.
Thing is. I appreciate this win more than if we straight curb stomped them. And I feel that the team will benefit from wining this way far more as well.
Firstly they know they are resilient in the darkest of moments. They aren't lucky they are prepared for the opportunity. On the other hand, they were on the cliff and were saved. That was a very emotional game. Pressure filled. A lot riding on it. I think they will come out intense Sunday. Ready to play, I think they'll be a lot looser because they are playin for one thing now. A shot at the Superbowl.
This game had soo much weight on it.
1) validating Arthur Blank's trust in the Triumvirate that leads the Franchise
2) Validating the members of that Triumvirate
TD - being able to put together a competitive programme outside of the shadow of papa Bill
Mike Smith- being more than seen as a caretaker coach able to stabilise the Franchise but not elevate it Further
Matt Ryan - Gettin over all those humps people have put in the way of him getting any recognition for the work he did
3) Getting it done for the city. If there is anything that would bring in the few who still haven't taken Matt into their bosom thy way they did Vick it would be getting a win that moves them to stage like the one we will be on next weekend. Big Boi was Aske's if Matt was as loved as Vick. He was like statistically. I think that bull Matt has done so much.
4) the team had the pressure on them of all season hearing. Show me. It doesn't matter how well you do now. Show me. As well as the internal pressure spoken or not of getting a win for Tony Todd n Mo' Pete.
I think thi team is gonna be off those leashes now. They aren't where they want to be but they are past the ceiling that had been built and sealed over them. Imagine that being in the back of your mind with everything you do. Players can say they don't think about but as someone who has been beaten n broken down. I can tell you when once self doubt creeps in. It stays. The only thing that changes is the tone. It's either gonna put you down. Or you are gonna battle it and make it quiet until its drowned out.
Honestly we needed it to be close....it will make the guys work harder and not underestimating the 49ers....the 49ers had a relatively easy time with GB so they will think we are not so tough....plus look at their pattern they have not been able to put together 3 solid games all year.....WWL WWL WWT WWL WWL W - regular season....now W and then ? next should be a Loss! if they follow pattern we may be able to stick it to them...I love that Kaepernick broke records....they went for broke....now what do they have left....we used our 2 min no huddle for 25 seconds against Seattle....we have plenty more to reach down and grab......not sure the 49ers can surprise us with anything and Kaepernick is no Russell Wilson throwing on the run...you stop his running and flush him from pocket and force him to throw.....he is 58% completion rate......just saying...RW was much tougher to face!
