RE: Gonzo wants $7 million
Ok I wanted to dig into who has the bigger dick BATTLE and did some research.
Looks like were both were RIGHT but Beef might have edge in being more right and if thats the case I would have to apologize This is what I have come down to doing research. In Aug . Kerry Meier was released -waived/injured. 08/31/2012 Kerry Meier, WR Released http://www.sportsnetwork.com/merge/tsnfo...spx?id=061 Waived injured' means the team is releasing the player but the player is injured. The team is responsible to pay the player until his injury has healed. This is usually done by reaching an agreement for a specific amount of money, called an injury settlement. Other teams are allowed to pick up players on the waived injured list but they are forewarned that the player is not in condition to play. Sometimes, if a player on the waived injured list is not selected by another team, the team will retain the player and place him on its injured reserve list. Aaron Wilson Aaron Wilson @RavensInsider Falcons WR Kerry Meier now on injured reserve after being waived injured 10/30/2012 Kerry Meier, WR Placed on injured reserve http://www.sportsnetwork.com/merge/tsnfo...spx?id=061 [/u][/i][/b] ![]() I'm delusional from our playoff loss against GB . Don't take me seriously until year 2413 . - Added by Phocis because of this post. Warned here. Do not remove. |

RE: Gonzo wants $7 million
Gonzo's deal is done.
He's going to count $5.25 millions against the cap this year. This leaves the Falcons with $8.5-9 millions in cap space. TD is freakin' amazing. The Man In Black

It just goes to show us normal fans have no idea at all the rules of the salary cap and the ways to offset cap numbers. Most still assume you divide the total contract by number of years to get the cap hit whihc is obviously never the case. People should really just shut up about cap numbers and money spent on these players and leave it to the professionals. |

RE: Gonzo wants $7 million
$5.25M isn't $7M, but it's still a bit more than I expected. I thought it would be closer to $4M.
So now we are at $9.8M under the cap, still waiting on SJax to be figured in however, but supposedly between $1.5-$2M cap hit. Still have Grimes, Owens, Hope, Svitek, Walker, Palmer, Cox, McCown, and Peterson hanging out there. I really think they are going to free up some more room by doing a new contract with Matt. TD indirectly admitted on the radio today that they've made an offer to Grimes and he hasn't accepted it yet. He made it clear it's a final number and they won't be raising it. So the ball is now in Grimes' court and I bet he is struggling with it. He has the choice to come back to the team that gave him his shot and has the best chance to go to a SB, but very likely at a price less than he could get elsewhere. And I also bet he's got his wack job wife Miko in his ear telling him he needs to follow the money to the highest bidder. As a result, I'm leaning towards us not re-signing Grimes and him going somewhere else. Which means CB becomes a huge priority in the draft. I also think there's a chance that Snelling gets cut IF we still also draft a RB this year. He's a $1.2M hit to this year's cap, but $700k if he were to be cut. That would save us $500k. I still think if Lattimore is around in the 4th round we might pull the trigger on him and let Snelling go. Just my opinion though. |

I normally loathe these kinds of posts, but here is my "heard it from a guy who heard it from another guy" post regarding Grimes: My buddy, who is also an attorney, is friend's with another attorney in Atlanta, and that attorney does sports law and works with agents. Anyways, that guy said Grimes has some personal issues and needs to take whatever money someone is willing to give him. |

RE: Gonzo wants $7 million
DLed just reported that the up-to-date all-in cap analysis has the Falcons at $3.36M under. This does not include the offer that has reportedly been put out to Grimes. It seems that TD is done in FA if Grimes accepts (considering the draftees have to get paid) unless, of course, TD can save $3M or so by extending Ryan.
I hope that Snelling's $500K cap hit does not make him a possible cap casualty as he is still valuable in my eyes for special teams and as a backup/spot player. |

Probably his wife running them into debt. wonder if she blew through his 10 million from last year already. |
