Did you ever hear Saban say Cody or Smith were going to be special in the NFL? No, in fact you never heard him say anything about those guys.

He's done multiple interviews on radio and TV saying that about Julio though for a reason. He knows that when Julio is an elite level WR and he's sitting in a recruits livingroom, he can point to Julio and say "Look at what I helped do." He's not going to talk about a kid and put his reputation on the line unless he's 100% certain.

Whoa whoa whoa. My comments had nothing to do with Julio "The Beast" Jones. I was just commenting about Phonics saying you have to be hard working to play for Saban.

I think for the positive things Dimitroff has done for this franchise he would have to be caught with a dead Cub Scout in his bed to be fired by Blank.

Isn't that the criteria the Ain'ts use to hire their staff?

It depends on who is calling Julio a bust. As I recall, most Falcon fans called Roddy White a bust for years. I think we all know those were premature ejaculations.
Big Grin

I think Julio will be given more than enough time to prove himself. He certainly has a better QB and work ethic than Roddy had those first years.

I hear you man, that's why I said, "Whatever you deem as failure in your mind." I didn't want to say what I deem is a total failure, others may disagree. Great responses from everyone though.

It is impossible for Jones to bust.

There is too much of a great support group around him for that happen.

The entire organization went "all in".

So hypothetically speaking, "IF" JJ
turns out to be a Bust, all of us have to
Man Up and take it on the chin.

Remember this, every freaking one of us were
screaming that WR was one of 2 positions of greatest need.

So when it comes down to it, do you go all in for a monster DE
or a player who can put 6 points on the board on any given play?

The correct answer is 6 points and TD keeps his job.

Agreed... well said +1 (nothing more I could contribute here!)

Disagree. It is ALWAYS possible for a player to bust. Even the best support group is useless if the player has no work ethic, doesn't try his best, or simply not good enough to play in the NFL. Not saying any of this applies to Julio, I'm just talking about in general.
