Even if Julio turns out to be the biggest bust in NFL history, it will have little to no bearing on TD's job security. Continued futility in the postseason or, worse, a couple of seasons of not making it there is the only thing that would put asses on the hotseat. Even then, TD's ass is the most secure out of any potential firing candidates. Coordinators would be canned first, followed by the head coach. Only after a second coach failed would ownership consider firing Dimitroff.
In other words, TD isn't going anywhere anytime soon. |

I haven't agreed with everything TD has done, lord knows that I was probably the fan most critiical of the Dunta Robinson move and also the fact that the Falcons didn't look for WR help last year.........but this is a complete non issue.
No matter what happens with Julio Jones, the only thing that would put TD in trouble is a slew of losing seasons. And by slew, I mean like 3 in a row.....at least. People aren't judged on personnel moves.....only on wins and losses and championships. |

If Julio is a bust and the Falcons don't make the playoffs this will be seen as one of the worst trades ever........and will probably impact on TD's future here.

I was thinking about this trade earlier today.
I had figured that if they gad managed to land AJ Green, that alone would have brought a lot of UGA Fans to the Dome. AJ will be a fantastic WR in the NFL, as will JJ. The difference being is that JJ will be the better blocker from day one. |

Let's see 40+ years of no back to back winning seasons, bring in One Thomas D, and get 3 winning seasons in a row.........One mistake will NOT put him on the hotseat. Now if Ryan turns into a bust, JJ busts, and we start losing seasons again like we used too, then sure, but get real.
Ignorance can be educated.....Stupidity is to the bone. |

But I don't think the front office is ready to acknowledge that Baker has only been a limited success, perhaps because they paid three picks to get him. |

Anything less than at least one playoff win in the next season will almost certainly cost at least one coordinator his job - I'm thinking the guy who was just the handed the shiny new offensive toy. Which would be a shame, because what he's done with what he has is vastly underrated. And it wouldn't be Smitty's decision either. This one would come from the top. |
