Falcons: First 3 Game, Quarter By Quarter Statisics

After the Falcons showing yesterday and someone on here pointing out that the Falcons have outscored their opponents 30-0 in fourth quarters this season, I decided to take a look at each quarter and see how the Falcons have done. Here's what I found.



As you can see, the Falcons have played teams pretty close to even in the first quarter and are beating them soundly in the 4th. In the second and third, however, the Falcons almost don't seem to be trying at all. In three games they've given 649 yards in the 2nd and 3rd quarters while only gaining 447.

Other things of note: The Falcons have turned the ball over 8 times this season, but not one of those has come in the 4th quarter. The Falcons have lost the time of possession battle in every game. The Falcons are currently the 9th most penalized team in the league.

I don't know what happens to us in the 2nd and 3rd quarters, but I saw a sign in Tampa yesterday that needs to be our motto: Play like it's the 4th quarter.
