Falcons Falcons to let Grimes walk?

RE: Falcons to let Grimes walk?
The other problem with Grimes is that even if his vertical is back fully, you can't let the Saints isolate Jimmy Graham on him in the red zone. He simply can't jump that high. As much as I am a fan of BG -- and I am -- this is reality.

Who do the Falcons have that could win a jump ball against Jimmy Graham?

RE: Falcons to let Grimes walk?
yeah, people using one jump ball situation to discredit Grimes is fooling themselves...Randy fucked Revis' hamstring up, Revis got done up by Ginn before, for a TD...it's rare for a CB to never get a ball caught on them, whether it's a 1st down or a touchdown. the fact that that's the only play ya can look to, should show you how big an asset Grimes was this year. but like I said already, this seems like it's the D-Rob contract biting us in the ass...I figured we'd be doing something silly once he had that 2010 year and we still didn't sign him...hard to pay 2 players that type of money at one position.

Plus, Grimes was coming off knee surgery, and he missed that ball that Graham caught by one freaking inch. Usually when Grimes gives up the play, he is in a "just missed" position. When some of our other guys give up plays, they are normally more in a "burnt toast" position.

I get you want Grimes back... I do to but knee injury or not.. That was going to be a TD for Graham... That would have been a TD on any of our players... Unless they had the opportunity to get really physical with Graham from the LOS (atleast have a chance) ... That was going to be a TD.

A beat is a beat... You may feel better that a guy was closer but they both are 6 points.

Like i said.. I want Grimes back to... The guy is our best CB.. I'm sure TD has been and will try to resign him... The Grimes family switching tom condon.. That told me 2 things...1. Either they didnt like the contract that was offered to him and want more money... 2.. They want to get paid

I find nothing wrong with that if you think thats your value... At the Same time the GM has to do what he has to do also.

I hope we can resign Grimes to a good contract for both Sides... Listening to Mike Nolan conference call.. He wants his good DB's... Lets hope it works out for the best.

This is one of those you don't know what you got til it's gone situations. We're going to regret losing this guy if we do. I respect PFF as a reliable stat and ranking source and they say Grimes has been a top-5 CB for past couple years. QB's have a significantly lower passer rating when they throw his direction. It's a big mistake to let this guy go.

I have to wonder how much of this is related to his wife... who believes that not only should athletes be paid as much as they are today, but should go for every nickel and dime they can get and fuck everything and everyone else.
