Asante Samuel - DB - Eagles

The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that the Falcons have agreed to terms with CB Asante Samuel on a three-year, $18.5 million contract.
The trade is all but complete. Samuel's old deal had $21.3 million over two years remaining in base salary alone, so he's accepting a sizable pay cut from that contract. The Falcons are expected to throw a late-round pick Philly's way.

So we got him for about 6 mil a year? instead of 10? thats a deal

As long as we dont give up our 2 or 3rd round pick this year, im a happy camper!

6th at highest, probably one of our 2 7's is what I've herd.

So right no, we're looking at 22-23 Million for Samuel, Grimes and Robinson. I expect Grimes to end up getting signed to a deal that's a little more than Asante's, taking us to right at 20 million for the 3.

This is a steal for us. Getting that level of talent for only a 6th rounder with a new cap friendly deal? TD is the freaking man.

So with this move, does anybody know where we at in terms of cap space?

Some where between a rock and a hard place would be my guess.

This is excellent news. One of the best zone coverage corners I've ever seen who at 31, can still play at an elite level I believe. Across from Grimes will make passing scary, and not to mention Robinson as our third man. People focus on our offensive passing attack this year, but I'm actually excited to see the defense out there. Great news!!!!!!!!!
