Falcons: Falcons Trim Roster to 53

reading through the roster cuts, some say they were waived, some say they were released, what's the difference? released is players that were on last years team, and under a more extensive contract? just curious

Released vs waived I think is essentially the same except for that the younger players are officially "waived" and have to clear the waiver wire, while the older players are "released" and can sign with whoever they want.

There's one spot left, which I'll bet is for Bruggman when McClure gets back. Of note, Bear Woods did not make the PS. He's officially gone.

Man, everyone, and I mean everyone was high on Jackson. What the heck happened? Thought for sure he'd make final cut.

I think they were confident he wouldn't be signed and could be on the PS. Bit of a gamble but I think they still like him. Don't forget Dahl came from the PS too.
