RE: Falcons Live Press Conference
Blank wasn't playing around. He basically walked in there and started slapping people around like a gangster.

Whenever TD or Smitty were more gracious in their responses than Blank was comfortable with he stepped in and offered more gravity to the situation. And when TD started offering stats on the O line for the season, Blank injected that stats can be deceiving, and offered a much more grave opinion on the play of our O line this season; contrasting the #6 in the league in sacks allowed stat to how often Ryan was hurried and forced to throw to avoid a sack, and not having the ability to let a play unfold down field. To me, Blank is pissed off, all three of them are, really, but Blank seems as though he won't be taking any crap... at all this off season. The man definitely looks to be on a mission.

Well, that press conference achieved what it was supposed to. I definitely feel better about the direction of the franchise after hearing some of the frankness from the staff. I feel they saw the same things we've been bitching about all year, and are determined to make the changes necessary to compete at a higher level. Now we sit back and wait to see what that means in terms of coordinators.

Something I thought was interesting was Smith talking about how our coverage issues early were dictated by the kicker not kicking directionally so we could flood the area with helmets. He said once Bosher started doing a better job of that, our coverage tightened up.

Translation, Bosher needed to kick higher. Once that was accomplished ST's could do its job.

Definitely...that press conference was tone perfect. There are certain things employees can't come right out and say...they must defer to the owner, and Blank pulled absolutely zero punches.

Couldn't agree more, I feel very confident in, if nothing else, our owner. He knows the score and he wants to win more than anything. Love that guy.

Good got to admire Blank for doing that, I imagine he knows getting funding for a new stadium will be tougher now, but the guy just wants to win........

I admire those three guys. I'm sure Blank drove the idea of this meeting, but it's not easy to put yourself out there for the community to put you on the hot seat and sit there and answer the hard questions coming from frustrated fans and sports writers. Much respect for all three of those men.

Pretty sure nothing that was said at that press conference in any way jeopardized any stadium funding.
