Falcons Expected To Have New Stadium Deal In Place By Dec. 31st
Official: Deal expected on new $1B Falcons stadium by Dec. 31, taxpayers would pay about $300M
The Georgia World Congress Center and the Atlanta Falcons are expected to sign off on their business deal for a proposed $1 billion new stadium for the team by December 31, according to Frank Poe, Executive Director of the Georgia World Congress Center, reports Atlanta Business Chronicle broadcast partner WXIA-TV. Poe spoke at a public forum Monday night hosted by Common Cause Georgia at Morehouse College. In addition to discussing a timeframe for a deal, he said taxpayers would cover about one-third of the costs of the proposed new stadium, or about $300 million. Poe said the remaining two-thirds would come from the Falcons, the NFL and other private-sector sources, WXIA reported The deal between the GWCC and the Falcons will specify who will pay for what, who will be liable for what, and how the revenue will be shared and for how long, Poe said, the station reported. Billion dollars? What are we the Cowboys?
This sounds good though. With that kind of money wherever they put the stadium will be a boon for the neighborhood and economy. |

Should have put it in a different area, no reason to put a billion dollar stadium in the middle of the ghetto.

What aftermath said, and the fact that traveling down to the dome is a pain in the ass. Traffic sucks downtown. Not just that but no place for tailgating, and parking is down right scary!
They couldnt put it in a worst place

I'm glad its staying in Atlanta instead of being in the northside burbs somewhere. This is definitely some of the best news of the year.
