You still gave up over 400 yards. You're going to be know as the worst defense ever. That has to sting even more than being 3-5.

Fuck respect. We should be making them straight fear us.

This team needs to get to that point if making other teams uncomfortable when they appear on the schedule. Like a snarling pittbull walking in a room and you can't see it's owner anywhere.

RE: Falcons Are Now 8-0: Still No Respect [Yardbarker]
I found out last night while watching the game that I actually hate Michael Vick more than I hate the Saints. I did not know that about myself. Learn something new every day I guess. (I still hate Sean Payton more than Andy Reid, but that one is close too.)
Teams don't fear the Falcons simply because the Falcons are more of a finesse team these days. They are not built to instill fear (even though WillyMo is pretty dangerous.) In the meantime some people actually are thankful for the built-in excuse for a loss (i.e., "they are 8-0 for a reason".) |

I watched the game at the casino with a Philly fan, so he did enough Vick hating for both of us. It was odd though, I really expected the worst with him being a Philly fan but it was just the opposite - great guy and very knowledgeable about his team, no dumbassery. We shared lots of Vick stories, he said he could definitely relate. He actually went to the Falcons game and said he came away very impressed with our team.

It is just now the halfway point and there was definite improvement last night. Saints Fan Since 1967

You mean it takes 8 games to realize you don't have a stable of stud DE's that mask your defense's lack of talent elsewhere? I think that should take 3, maybe 4 games tops. |

RE: Falcons Are Now 8-0: Still No Respect [Yardbarker]
Respect comes from winning titles or at least being able to win consistently in the playoffs. The Bills teams that lost four SBs still get respect because they did something no one has or frankly will ever do again: they went to four straight SBs. That's how you earn respect. You either win a ring or you consistently win in the playoff to be in a position to win a ring.
This Falcons era has excelled at the regular season. The media has in fact changed their outlook on us. Much like with the Saints there is no more talk of "OMG look at these lovable losers finally winning and those fans deserve it" and other thoughts along those lines. Now we are held to the highest standard: we EXPECT you to in in the regular season and we EXPECT you to at least win some playoff games. We have not done that. Once we do then things will change. Any Falcons fan who thinks differently is honestly deluding themselves.
