RE: Exclusive Q&A with TD
I don't know if you guys should read into the word "Aggressive" by purely what the Play-call is out there. I take it from TD that the Defensive PLAYERS are aggressive, and play passionately...but thats my interpretation of the wording.
Honestly looking at the season, the Defensive players played as hard as they could, but BVG held them back with so much weak-sauce. Looking towards the future of this org now that we got the mediocrity out. -ROCK CHALK!!! |

RE: Exclusive Q&A with TD
If you guys are thinking that we're going to switch to a 3-4, turn to a press man coverage scheme, or start blitzing as much as Rex Ryan or Gregg Williams, you might as well brace yourselves. We're still going to be a 4-3 defense that plays a Cover 2 zone. While BVG coordinated and called the plays, it was still essentially Smith's scheme. It's a scheme that goes all the way back to the Steelers from the 70s, and has been ran to the play-offs and to the Superbowl many times through the years.

Honestly, I wouldn't bet against it but I hope to be wrong. I don't mind staying with something like that as our base but I hope we expand into more hybrid territory. On both sides of the ball we have been fairly bland and predictable. Whatever we do I hope we mix it up a little more. |
