I will try to address it in the most politically correct way possible. Atlanta is a very divisive city. Atlanta is one of the most African American cities in the country, and by far the biggest one. The city is African American controlled from the mayor on down to every level of government. That is not a statement of good or bad, but rather a statement of the facts. Mike Vick brought this town together and also in someways drove it apart. Vick installed a sense of pride for a good portion of Atlanta's population. That pride for some turned to shame, for others turned into a Guido like defense, but in both cases left a void. Now when ever we have a Black Qb on the roster, it only follows that a portion of the population will want him to start. (this also happened with Dj Shockley, and to a smaller extent Woodrow Dantzler). In a sociological viewpoint, these feeling make sense. In a NFL viewpoint they make none. It is something that probably wont change anytime soon. I did not mean to offend any group with this post and I hope that I have not. ![]()

RE: Dominique Davis
I thought it was very well articulated, and a perfect answer.

RE: Dominique Davis
Great explanation. But personally I don't care about being politically correct anymore. It's too much work.

RE: Dominique Davis
I thank you Pauliwood for being so correct in your assessment. Not trying to get that whole conversation started(again) but it really pisses me off as a Black man how Black people act when it comes to Vick and this team. It's so fucking stupid and it makes us(Black people) look like idiots. I remember back in 2010 when we were having the best season as a team since 1998 and at the 2 games I went to there were Vick jerseys all over the place. Fucking travesty. With that being said....

RE: Dominique Davis
I am so psych'd about DD! I think he is going to be worth a starting LB and a starting OL (or equivalent draft choices) when we trade him to an AFC team in 2014. TD might get even more if we hold onto him until 2015.

You are black? Who knew? lol.Man I had a blast with ya when we went to the game in 2010, thank to Tandy. ![]() That was the best game I've ever been to. If I'm not mistaken, it was against GB. LOL, we couldn't speak half way through the game.

RE: Dominique Davis
I read something today about Davis that I did not previously know, although I am sure most people here do.
He holds the NCAA record for most consecutive completions in a single game (26) and in multiple games (36). He took both of those records from Aaron Rodgers. That's crazy. |
